Sorry...but is this possible?
Or do you have to precrown, crown, then postcrown?

Okay...I have 40k to sac for the second crowning like the Guidebook says. I sacced it, it brought me up to very close, but still not second precrown.
I have 2 artifacts generated (one randomly found, another precrown gift) and am at level 16 (trying to get a third artifact before the pyramid).
What am I doing wrong?

in guidebook it was crowning and postcrown, iirc. crownings are cheaper in piety. precrown+precrown is more expensive.

I'm pretty sure 25k would suffice. 50k is usually enough for me when I'm about your level.

Just sac'ed 50k when I was already "very close," and nothing! Is this normal? Do I need to sac the gold in specific increments?

The second precrowning takes about 3 times as much sacrificing as the first one, I believe. That's true for money and monsters.

Here's an excerpt from the Guidebook, section 0.0.2:
> First crowning took 100,000 gp
> First postcrowning took only 40,000 gp (!)
> Second postcrowning took 180,000 gp
> Third postcrowning took 500,000 gp
> Fourth postcrowning took 970,000 gp
> Fifth postcrowning took 1,600,000 gp.
> Didn't check further, what's the point anyway.

This can give you a rough idea of the cost progression for precrowns.
