As part of the 13th quest, I've just eaten the Oracles corpse. As I'm already cursed and doomed, I didnt think that I had much to lose.
Now firstly, what a wimp, one decent hit with an Acid bolt, and dead.
But, according to Andy Williams pages, +6 Le, and +4 Ma after eating the corpse. I received neither. Can anyone else clarify what I should have received after my meal?

well generally +stat doesn't guarantee increase. especially if you trying to jum from 98 to 99.

basically you have to pass two rolls:

monster corpse effect --- some have just caps on increase, some have very interesting procentage layouts. in general lower your stat better your chances.

you being able to receive bonus at all. in short anything over 30 has 10percent and less. over 40 it is 1 percent and less.

ofcourse there are exceptions kobold shamans being most common.

speaking about oracle i don't remind seeing le to jump higher than 25-26.
note, according to all spoily things i have ever read she is not capped by herself and should get +6 rolls against your chances of increasing learning. and in terms in mana she is an average spellcasting monster.

wimp or not she posseses death ray.

A root is a flower that disdains fame.

Usually best to kill her early if you want the corpse effects, since by the later game you'll have already put your Le beyond the maximum with crystals of knowledge. Blessing her corpse also makes it more likely to give some increase, as obviously does taking off items that are increasing your base Le, or having Le reduced by corruptions or sickness.

Apparently, yes.

Well, that does make some sense. I suppose that if you were currently starving, you wouldn't be able to think of much aside from "Foooood!"

You drop the golden ball.
You kick the golden ball. It slides to the west.
Suddenly Harry Potter, the apprentice wizard, appears! "That's not how you play Quidditch! are you even listening?"
Which direction? (123456789) 4
Harry Potter, the apprentice wizard, is hit by a bolt of acid! Harry Potter, the apprentice wizard, is annihilated.

If you can train yourself to learn things even when under the greatest of hungers then that makes you extra Learned overall - or something like that :P
