Crowned chaotics get it way worse in general - had the same trouble with my chaotic Tarindil and had to spend a lot of wishes on SoCR.

Lawful assassin sounds cool, though a bounty hunter is more neutral - in it for the money (still a lawful assassin is still feasible in the sense of say an honourable ninja that performs operations for its master, killing himself if he fails in his task). Trollish mindcrafter would be pretty good early on, but the difficulty gaining levels would hit mindcrafters by far the hardest of any class I think.

As for nullifying the affects of confusion (or stunning) there are a few ways. Applying a skill like Concentration or Pick Pockets will get a fail message, but it wastes a turn. Same for casting spells, using certain items, etc. They won't help get rid of the confusion, but they'll stop you wandering places you don't want to go. Prayer will also always remove the confusion (assuming it gets answered). These are all vital to know when surrounded by chaos piranhas...

My trollish mindcrafter just died, so I can't prove you wrong, Darren Grey. BUT he died only because I was uncautious. I reached level 23 and had lots of really nice artifacts. I thought I could berserk ancient red dragons with Wyrmlance without being killed. Well, think again.

Trolls can pretty much forget mindcraft in the beginning... because of their lousy mana. But their strength helps them survive. Later on, mana can be trained, and level gaining may be slower, but there are some tricks that help with that.

You do need lots of potions of raw mana to help with your PP regeneration.

The ability to confuse opponents at the expense of only a few power points is valuable even on later levels... So what if you have to wait for Greater Telekinetic Blast for a while?

Also, trolls are IMHO a nice race for ultra endings because they can do Gaab'Baay's quests at a fairly low level.
You drop the golden ball.
You kick the golden ball. It slides to the west.
Suddenly Harry Potter, the apprentice wizard, appears! "That's not how you play Quidditch! are you even listening?"

Harry Potter, the apprentice wizard, is hit by a bolt of acid! Harry Potter, the apprentice wizard, is annihilated.
You hear the ecstatic cries of a large crowd!

I can't imagine how difficult it must be to get a troll to level 45 for the Filk quest though... I seriously don't understand why people would choose trolls if they intend to play to win - other races are strong and tough enough without having the same horrible restrictions. But best of luck with your efforts anyway :)

speaking of trolls it's usually either wishing for moloch emperor or hunting down multiple incanations of eternal guardian. deep ID drive is also an option.

by the way Buffy finished dwarven quests. animated forest was pure pain, but dwrven halls are blocked by bunch of frost giant jarls...

and Li-Hon-Kay wasn't that impossible. i landed a couple of critical kicks (find weakness at 100 helps a lot) and finished with acid wand.

and before i made couple precrowns. purifier isn't helpfull, but robes of resistance isn't vey bad.

Well, I imagine that if you kill all major monsters(shopkeepers, Molochs, Cat Lord, Casino) while slowed, you can make it to level 50 with relative ease, especially cat lord.

I think that with the whole assassin class in general really isn't that suitable in adom, seeing as how you get ordered to kill like 5 people...I hope that in JADE that there are actual fortresses you have to infiltrate and kill people...still no clue as to what person to roleplay next.....

Assassination quests (some are mutually exclusive):

-Kranach
-Keethrax
-Jharod
-Twyat Pare
-Hotzenplotz
-Nonnak
-greater demon
-ogre tribe
-Yrruir
-Riurry
-Guth'Alak
-Barney
-Filk

A decent number, and the vast majority of actual quests in the game. Of course some like the Kherab quests most people never do, and a few can only be done one way.

i managed to mistype some letters while saccing stuff and offered my precrown gift. so i'm left without robes of resistance, worn equipment and in addition i'm cursed and doomed without any money with me.

at least Buffy was never too religious anyway.

i do believe Buffy started as a movie... but that is very fine point of view.

good things: i got rid of dooming and started gremlin bomb.
bad ones: in desperation i sold lot of stuff including AMW. rebuying cost is 80k in gold. it wasn't very stylish anyway:)

so really loses are robes of resistance and my faithull iron boots (+2kick damage) and +3 girdle of strength.

other stuff is just a plain question of gold to rebuy:). i think it just fine time to teleport rob darkforge.

edit: i still have 7lb so i might go stone giant hunting.

First Venom:

Died at the grand level of 8 in puppy cave, bad thing about dark elves is their low strength and toughness. Dexterity, learning, and willpower are perfectly fine though. Question: If I have my right hand empty, and the other hand with a whip, will I use both my hand and the whip?

noob: Nope, equipping a weapon means you only use that weapon. Similarly if you're wearing a shield you don't get the proper unarmed fighting bonuses.

well I would assume you would wield a weapon with two hands in that case. I don't think there are any bonuses though.

I personally think that monks will become very popular if they gain the ability to attack with both fists, without losing any time during a battle....don't they get the most DV out of any race almost every time by the endgame?

besides i forgot unwield hammer after smithing so i picked up extra level in clubs while playing with gremlins.
i don't think i'm enough of perfectionist to start all over again.

Really tiny deal since you could have dealt with the gremlins by kicking anyway. In fact if anything it's made things slightly more difficult for you since you have less unarmed marks.

Chris, by trollish priest born in Dragon, is doing very well... in fact so well that I'm worried. Started with crappy Wi and Le (2, 6) so he couldn't read the book of Magic Lock he started with. Got the blanket and a nice white orcish spear (+4, 1d8+4) from the SMC, killed Kranach, got the Puppy corpse and got precrowned with Executor in DD while lv 9, where I found two neutral altars. Didn't kill Keethrax because of a damn river, so I went through the UD. Went to the CoC on day 40. Did all the dwarven elder's quests, and on my way back from the Arena a bunch of skeletons surrounded me... one of them dropped 7LB's. WOW. I was lv 13. Killed the greater daemon , and went to complete the portal quest. A total of 8! graves with great treasures were generated, a new record for me. Everyone on the upper and lower level was a joke to my beautiful axe, until I begun digging graves that is... From all the 8 graves I got only master liches, luckily. I used Burning Hands to kill them. The second master lich summoned ghost lords... one of them punched through my armor and I was aged 25 years to old. I had to use the wand of fireballs from the dwarven elder to kill them all, and then drank a blessed !Youth, which left me with only 2 years of unnatural aging: I was feeling grown up :P
In the fifth grave I found an ordinary ring... after I dug every grave, I ID'd my stuff: among a lot of good loot I found Wyrmlance and a RoDS. I love graveyards :P So I'm level 14, planning to do the Pyramid next. Should I continue using Executor or switch to Wyrmlance?

Executor is way better than Wyrmlance - slays demons and humanoids, both extremely handy. St bonus is also nice, as is the fact you can wear a shield with it. I always consider Executor to be a game-winning weapon - it makes so many things much easier, as long as you don't get overconfident with it. However wyrmlance still has it's uses for slaying dragons - most importantly the ACW, Keriax and in the BDC later (also handy for gaining a few levels from the great water dragon).

I used Executor to clean Darkforge... 33 St and lv 14, but every golem fell to two hits. My problem is that I'm a fallen champion. I apparently miscalculated the alignment drop from eating undead corpses, and I'm doomed. So what do I do? Can I sacrifice at the same neutral altar and get enough piety to remove the doomed status? BTW, I was lucky I drank !oUH and !oEH in Dwarftown, that goddam bolt left me with 20 HP.

You do have to consider that executor causes bad luck though. I would definitely hope for getting rolf's axe, in case you don't wanna be cursed.
