I was just reading the guidebook, and noticed something very surprising, it states - "Note that throwing shields as missile weapons increases the weapon marks for the shields skill." Can anyone verify this? And if so, wouldn't this be an excellent way to up your shield marks faster? It works, but it's not very usefull. A good shield and very aggresive tactics work much better. A pessimist sees a dark tunnel. An optimist sees a light at the end of that tunnel. A realist sees a train. And the train driver sees three idiots on the tracks. |

Interestingly, the guidebook says that fighting more defensively increases shield marks quicker. Now, which one is true? Does deflecting a blow yield more marks if you fight more defensively? I am aware that you only get shield marks at all if deflecting a blow, and that this is more likely if you fight more offensively. I just want to know if the manual is indeed wrong in his assumption. Yeah, you get zero shield marks on berserk (and conversely zero melee marks on very defensive/coward). But you're more likely to get a shield block on very aggressive tactics because it will be forming more of your DV. Waldenbrook, the dwarven shopkeeper, mumbles: "I'd offer 9 gold pieces for yer dwarven child corpse." |
