I've got a character that is a dead cert ULE if I can just get an AOLS. DE wizard, lvl21, excellent stats, Bracers of War, Natures Companion. Already satisified the demented one, Boars skull hidden away, teleport control invisible etc.
Basically only stupidity can kill me now, or old age.
But havent got an AOLS.
I've drained every pool, identified every ring, necklace.

My current plan is to hand around lvl 8, and pickpocket everything that comes along. Start a wish engine, and go from there.
ANy better tactics from you guys, or is it just boring pick pocket and kill.

the search function isn't that great, but it's still usable, and you could do some manual search too, there are tons of posts about how to get wishes/AoLS

Don't start a wish engine. Stop when you get your 1 wish, get the AoLS, and move on.

Wish engine makes the rest of the game too easy/boring.

Agreeing with Molach there.
You drop the golden ball.
You kick the golden ball. It slides to the west.
Suddenly Harry Potter, the apprentice wizard, appears! "That's not how you play Quidditch! are you even listening?"

Harry Potter, the apprentice wizard, is hit by a bolt of acid! Harry Potter, the apprentice wizard, is annihilated.

So, level 8 is really the best level to get a RoDS? That seems awfully low (or high, as it were).

If that's the case, then I guess level 8 is the place to "exchange" your rings, too, right?

Thanks in advance for any assistance. This is my first post on this forum, but I've been lurking for a few weeks. I'd love to get an AoLS to save Khelly, I hate going past him and letting him die!

Level 8 maxs the chance of RingofDjinn because other higher level rings wont be generated.
I always do the ring exchange in the Smc, tends to work out.
Or grembomb in the TothKing or Dwarvenhalls.

Cool, thanks.

Out of curiosity, why would you grembomb DH when TotHK is non-corrupting? Or am I wrong on that?

TotHK is corrupting. Dwarven Halls is more corrupting. Take your pick. There are a few items which can be generated in DH which can't be generated in ToHK. But not that many. DH is close to home, though :).

or you can just not do a wish engine at all, and possibly risk losing your char. and if age is your problem, why not use alchemy to make potions of youth/longevity?
