pretty cool ascii game, based heavy on d@d, cool items races etc. orcs get xp for devouring their enemies, im playing amulti class orc rouge/ranger. its a beta for a much bigger game in process, google and check it out.. .vultuous. |

The combat system in this game is completely awesome - never saw that elsewhere. Looks like an adventure mode is planned, for now its an ordinary complex roguelike with advanced combat system and deities. |

True - that's why I don't like it in fact. I've always hated the DnD mechanics and wish fantasy RPGs would break away from them more. Waldenbrook, the dwarven shopkeeper, mumbles: "I'd offer 9 gold pieces for yer dwarven child corpse." |

Depends - game mechanics are hard to make. If one comes up with his or her own, chances are they suck. I'm not for or against DnD mechanics in RPGs - what counts is how well the games play. About Incursion... The game ended for me when I found a glaive on the ground. I hit "g" - get item - and then couldn't find out for the life of me how to continue. Apparently I wasn't allowed to hit "escape" and just let the dumb thing continue to lie on the floor. Apparently, the game aims to have a lot more detail regarding inventory management than ADOM had, which is good - but very confusing. You drop the golden ball. You kick the golden ball. It slides to the west. Suddenly Harry Potter, the apprentice wizard, appears! "That's not how you play Quidditch! are you even listening?" Which direction? (123456789) 4 Harry Potter, the apprentice wizard, is hit by a bolt of acid! Harry Potter, the apprentice wizard, is annihilated. You hear the ecstatic cries of a large crowd!
