I just got that from a starting potion with a HE mindcrafter... Is that lucky, or just plain useless? Does a mindcrafter usually get enough HP/PP to cast comething costing 5735 PP?

Actually this is probably irreleveant since I'll die very shortly. I can feel it.

Last level 50 mindcrafter I had, had about 2k pp, the cost to cast is also significantly higher if your spell knowledge is very low.

And I recieved a grand total of 9 knowledge from the potion... Which means, with dark/silvernight, I'll need 1000 Hp. Or I could just admit defeat with this...

That movie is so awesome.
You drop the golden ball.
You kick the golden ball. It slides to the west.
Suddenly Harry Potter, the apprentice wizard, appears! "That's not how you play Quidditch! are you even listening?"
Which direction? (123456789) 4
Harry Potter, the apprentice wizard, is hit by a bolt of acid! Harry Potter, the apprentice wizard, is annihilated.
You hear the ecstatic cries of a large crowd!

ACtually my DiTL troll farmer also got wish from either potion or wand. I say it is useless without the reduced-casting cost class-powers (priest and wizard). Of course, one could work up to eventually casting it, but any wish made after such an amount of scumming would be very much redundant, game-winningly speaking.

Except for the fact that no archmage can wish for mindcraft of course.

The reduced cost class-powers don't work for wish. It's still 3000, at least for a wizard. To cast it once or twice is quite possible, just takes a high level, room with reduced casting costs, silvernight, that helps. To cast it repeatedly even after the stat drains requires some serious scumming I think, either draining wands with mana corruption for power points or !oEH from the healer for health.
If you're feeling happy, don't worry, it'll go away.
