HELP! All I did was load my dark elf assassin and the first message generated was this: "You feel as if you have run out of luck!" Now ALL my equipment is cursed. I am a crowned Champ of Balance at N+ in the Ogre Cave. I prayed to Anassaria and all my worn equipment was uncursed, but that doesn't help the stuff in my pack... Does it have to do with the fact that it is the 13th? What did I do..? :'( You pick up the Wand of Do Nothing. 'z'... Nothing happens. 't'... The Wand of Do Nothing misses the kestral. This happens. believe its an anti-scum effect from backing up your file - the dates between playing may have effect.. your equipment should also dissapear from your pack, monsters get a lot tougher, prices go up by 100 and it just plain sucks :p .vultuous. |

That is just downright awful. Well, I loaded the same file on a different pc, and I haven't had any problems, yet. I don't get it...all my previous games were scummy as heck (especially when it came to pools), and I never once got that message. You pick up the Wand of Do Nothing. 'z'... Nothing happens. 't'... The only time I've generated the message, "You feel as if you have run out of luck!" is when I was experimenting with changing offsets inside of my savefile, and then loading them. That was years ago though, so things may be different now. If it isn't possible that anything was changed inside of your savefile, I might think that something has gone wrong with your executable. Especialy if your savefile loaded fine on another computer. As far as I know, the only game effect regarding the date being the 13th is for friday 13th, newly generated PC's start out cursed. Put me in the 'fool filter', where I belong! |
