You mean the relationship between artifacts worn and digestion? I know you get hungry faster with every artifact you wear. Getting crowned and sipping from pools will slow your digestion.

Taken from http://www.andywlms.com/adom/adomgb-app-G.html

"Most "base" PCs use one unit of nutrition each turn. The units of nutrition for the various food items are listed below. None of the following applies to food consumption in the big wilderness map, where different rules apply (maybe just a multiplier). Apart from equipment, the formula for a PC's food consumption per turn is as follows:

1 standard
+1 for Trolls
+1 when Strained or Strained!
+2 when Overburdened!

[...]
+0.5 for each equipped artifact (rounded down), for uncrowned or fallen champion PCs
+0.25 for each equipped artifact (rounded down), for crowned PCs
[...]
2501+ Bloated
1501..2500 Satiated
200..1500
100..199 Hungry
50..99 Hungry!
0..49 Starving

In addition to this if you're burdened or more you'll get another +1 when doing any action other than resting.

Monks get hungry 1/2 compared to other classes.. what does that means?

1) A burdened troll monk with 2 artifacts will use [ 1 + 1 (troll) + 1 (burdened) + 1 (2 worn artifacts) ] /2 = 2 units of nutrition each turn?

..or..

2) 1/2 + 1 (troll) + 1 (burdened) + 1 (2 artifacts) = 4 units of nutrition each turn?

"Monks get hungry 1/2 compared to other classes.. what does that means?"

Guidebook says:

"The total value after those modifiers is halved for Farmers of Level 12+ and monks of any level. So, for example, an overburdened human fighter would consume 3 units per turn, and a strained! troll monk would consume 1.5 units per turn. In this case, fractions are *not* rounded away: The character will alternate between consuming 1 and 2 units. After that, additional modifiers apply, which are *not* halved for monks or farmers:"

So, according to how I understand it, it halves the basic consumption and the ones from being burdened, strained or strained!

So wearing artifacts, items that grant invisibility etc. Will be added as normal.

As long as you keep your ratlings happy your food problem should go away at the mid-game. But of course, the early game is when most of my PCs have starvation problems the most.

ratling fodder weighs too much. Need Stomafillia.

Not really, a cooked lizard is the same as a ration and weighs 5s, just keep 10-20 of them with you. Of course you still need to eat other stuff as well, which might not be the case with stomafillia.

I usually have my food consumption at 1 though. Only 1/3 artifacts, don't go strained, and so on.

BWV, what makes you say that? Ever actually been here? :D Where are you from? Brazil?

J., you don't happen to be The Real J?

This is getting seriously offtopic. I'm sorry, but I just have nothing to say about food consumption.

No, he's not. J. and The Real J are two different people, which have waged war over the name of J.
But they both lost, since it's already taken by Will Smith ;)

I had a different name a long long time ago, then forgot the password and just took my name's first letter. The other guy had apparently posted as "J." but as a guest, unregistered, so I kind of accidentally stole his name :P After that he also made an account.

Cooked lizards weigh 3 stones. Blessed stomafillia provides about eight times the food of a blessed cooked lizard, and cooked lizards can usually only be gotten uncursed.

The most horrible reason for weight problem, at least for me, are missiles.

Blessed Stomafilla will cause you to become bloated, penalizing your to hit (by -2?), your DV (also by -2?), and your speed (By 10 points). All very annoying, depending on how fast and well equipped your character is. Also, having enough blessed stomas to last you any amount of time is not guarranteed even with the big room. I horde the ones I manage to get, and save them for smithing or if I run out of other types of food.
