Hurrah, another victory! This time with a drakish wizard that got stupendously powerful. I generated this character quite a few months ago, just after my first victory and just before my second, so technically that's three winning characters generated in a row. It's a pity everything else I've generated since has died very quickly... I got to about level 14 with this character and then didn't play it for many months, so I can't remember much about hte early game apart from getting Preserver as a precrowning and Serpent's Bite somehow.

This guy had a decent recipe for PoGA (boost speed + longevity) which I abused again and again to get monstrous stats. I took down the tower with willpower boosted to 99 and ice ball - everything got wiped away easily. After that there were no challenges in the game. Ring-dipping got me a
bunch of RoDSes (which I wasn't expectng, but used on a few handy things) and I found a wand of wishing in the bug temple to wish for more PoGA ingredients.

D50 was... laughable. I boosted all stats, teleported into the very middle next to the balors, and cast acid ball twice - everything disappeared apart from the balors, which I then took out with the trident of the red rooster. Teleported round finding all the remaining monsters and acid balled them into oblivion. It was hilariously fun, especially I normally melee clear D50 which takes insanely longer.

This is my first regular win - the others being OCG and ULE. Funny considering this was actually my most powerful character of all. I didn't bother smithing up items because, well, he was insanely powerful as it was. I've never gotten a wizard to victory before, but by god it was fun...

Congratulations.
First time I've ever heard of someone with TORR completing a standard win, and not attempting to do an ULE.

Your list of talents confuses me Beast of Burden is made obsolete with SOA. I'd have gone for the talents that boost PP and regenerate PP quicker.

Good win though.

Congratz!

3 down, 17 to go eh?

I have also gotten the TotRR and "just" closed the gate. Nothing to it really, if you know your first kill and it is not a rat or something it is very easy to get, since Khelavaster is more often saved than not. Emperor Moloch is at least something out of your normal routine, some excitement in that late game.

Those chaos quests are so ...evil...

What, seventeen? one hundred and seventeen!
You drop the golden ball.
You kick the golden ball. It slides to the west.
Suddenly Harry Potter, the apprentice wizard, appears! "That's not how you play Quidditch! are you even listening?"
Which direction? (123456789) 4
Harry Potter, the apprentice wizard, is hit by a bolt of acid! Harry Potter, the apprentice wizard, is annihilated.
You hear the ecstatic cries of a large crowd!

Jules: I made a concious decision early on to get a normal victory, and crowned neutral before the tower (got handy fire immunity from that, though I could have easily done it without). I've already had a ULE and an ordinary chaos god, so I wanted a normal ending for once. Sure, I could have easily spanked Andy's ass red raw, but I've done that 3 times already and just wanted to close the gate. Getting the trident was no trouble - first kill mugger (hence the character's name, Mugs). Next time I might go for UNE or UCG.

As for the porter talents, well I wanted ot get by without SoA. In the later game my strength was enormous, and with those talents I could carry 10k of junk and 2 moloch armours and still only be strained. PP regeneration doesn't do much, and the extra PP is obviously worthless. None of the talents really mattered much.

Create Item is virtually useless, but it's good for training your Mana stat. No forms of healing were ever needed in the game that I can remember (though possibly in the early game I might have needed some, by the mid game nothing could hurt me - besides, I had an insane healing rate).
