was playing an elf archer (who eventualy won the game) had no problem at all, went to casino, kelly saved and stuff, about CoClvl 30 i meet a threatening room. I think, nothing i can't handle hehe. Then i make a few steps. *THUMB*. I'm like, k fine just 1 big dude to take care of. Few more steps ... *THUMB**THUMB**THUMB**THUMB**THUMB**THUMB**THUMB**THUMB**THUMB**THUMB**THUMB* i'm like oh dam! cast monster detect from wand. You sense the presence of 53 monsters. Guess what they were, GM! i look in my inventory, 20demon slaying ammos... takes about 3 to down one. With a bit of hit - run - grab ammo - heal wounds, I took all of them down, jumping from lvl 24 to lvl 50, in a single room hehehe. No need to say rest of the game was a piece of cake (normal gate closing killing all ennemies ending) :P |

I love those rooms :) First time I ran into one of them was on the Earth temple level with a char that had no way to handle them properly. Was running away when a greater water elemental appeared and handed me - rune-covered trident. I turned around and got me a very nice amount of xp. Waldenbrook, the dwarven shopkeeper, mumbles: "I'd offer 9 gold pieces for yer dwarven child corpse." |

I remember I once ran into a tension room full of GM (about 40 of them) somewhere in the SC. I was doing fine while standing inside a corridor and cast MM inside the tension area. Too bad I aimed one of the MM to corridor`s wall... Anyway, I once thought GM is one of the worst monsters you can encounter in the game, but since than, I came to realize that as long as you have the means of killing it, it`s like free xps giving you by the RNG. |

Hmmm, well... Here are two more scary-tension-room stories from me. Trollish wizard, lvl between 20 and 30, somewhere near D:43. Tension room, full of balors. This story is boring, because I've chosen to run for my life and later pass this level using "staircase teleportations" only. Gray elven wizard, lvl 45+ (don't remember actually), D:50. DDDAAMN! There were two tension rooms generated, one with mimics, another with... balors... Oh, thank you very much! Luckily, I've read a scroll of monster detection immediately upon arriving from D:49 (just to see all bad guys waiting to taste my ball spells) - the balors' tension room was right near the staircase, and guess, what could have happened if I would open the door. Another thing - these balors from tension room began teleporting to levers just like Fistanarius and his company (bad!), but only one at a time (grrreat!). There were more than 30 of them, and soon it has become somewhat boring. When I've become intolerably tired of this tedious 1-on-1, and about 10 balors were still remaining, I've teleported inside... Uhm... It's not very funny to drink blessed PoUH with 2 HP remaining (or funny?), but I've dispatched them all. Well, time to leave... wait... ahhh, mimics!.. Oh my, I'm so lonely and need some company |
