I wouldn't say that's unusual. The whole point of the DH is way out of depth monsters.

DH has a danger level of 45. The only things you shouldn't find there are greater balors and greater earth elementals.

Greater Titans are Danger Level 44, by the way.
A pessimist sees a dark tunnel.
An optimist sees a light at the end of that tunnel.
A realist sees a train.
And the train driver sees three idiots on the tracks.

It's possible to find a threat room of Emperor Liches. I did. Twice.

Emperor Liches are Danger Level 45, so it's possible for lower level monsters (that is, all of them that aren't Greater Earth Elementals).

I think that it is possible, becaus if the danfer level. I remember that once I found tension room of titans on DH2 with a very promsing PC...
By yje way, I think that danger level on DH1 is lower then DH2, but its more like a guess, cause I tend to find the tougher monsters on DH2.

Yup. White and Red already seen. And before you ask - there can be ANY monster in DH2. Greater Earth Elementals can spawn as an out-of-depth monster and from a blessed scroll of familiar summoning.

I think at least if the titan is in the darkness he can't shoot his eternium quarrels, just like the PC can't use thrown or missile weapons in the dark. That's at least how it is with Keethrax - he can shoot his energy barrages, but not sling bullets, even though he sees in the dark, and I'm not even sure greater titans see in the dark.

The same should go for being in the darkness yourself. I've never been hit by a missile when I was standing in darkness.
You drop the golden ball.
You kick the golden ball. It slides to the west.
Suddenly Harry Potter, the apprentice wizard, appears! "That's not how you play Quidditch! are you even listening?"
Which direction? (123456789) 4
Harry Potter, the apprentice wizard, is hit by a bolt of acid! Harry Potter, the apprentice wizard, is annihilated.
You hear the ecstatic cries of a large crowd!

If that is the case, then i must try to kill it. I have lvl 18 necromancer and it would be quite a boost to my xp(5-7 levels perhaps).

So it's not out of the question to find greater balors in DH2?

Killing greater titans in the dark is a bit tricky toward the end. They panic, and if they don't have an escape route, they can then hit you. You must battle them in an open room, and hope that other monsters do not come to interfere, which they always will if you don't pacify the level first.

When they panic and flee, you will not be able to missile them, because you are in the dark. You must leave the darkness, or light it, then shoot missiles. Unfortunately, now THEY can shoot back, because they are not in the dark anymore. It's a frustrating game that can get you killed with one lucky critical, if you are not careful.

If you have the magic missile spell (or highly charged wand) the task is made easier, and poison can also help. When they panic, don't attack right away, but follow them to the mouth of a corridor. Let them enter, cast darkness, and magic missile them in the dark. This is the safest way I have found, and it's still dangerous.
Good luck though : )

It wouldn't have needed a crit hit to kill me, since my necro had 97hp and 28PV :->. Darkness+ corridor+light + blessed slaying ammo + 8 zaps from monster detection wand + doorwand + tele spell+ digging= 5 levels quite fast

Almost not-at-all hard :D
