When I check my gnomes age it says 114/119.. does that mean my max age is 119??? if so is there a guaranteed potion of youth?? should probable get longevity as the next talent..

Thanks for any advice..

Calm down, it's all okay ;)

You're 114 years old, but you've been unnaturally aged by five years for a total of 119 biological years. Your max age can be anything from 610 to 800, so there's still a lot of air. Heck, you're still 181 years away from being middle-aged!

You can only get long-lived in the beginning, as one of your starting talents, and there is no guaranteed potion of youth. They're easiest to get either from a potion shop, alchemy, or the casino, but... you won't really need one ever, being a gnome with at least 491 years to spare!

IMO, don`t fight him yet, cause you HP is too low
and RCT is far from being best attack weapon.
even if you have WoP and slaying ammo, he still can take you down with 1 or 2 attacks.

Yeah, keep the hell away from him. Make sure you're wearing the mummy wrapping on his level to see invis, and try and outrun him to the stairs. Use wands of webbing or paralysis to stop him chsing you if you need to. Come back when you've got about 400 HP to be safe.

Catlord will rape you, go level up more first. If i recall correctly, you can get him to follow you up stairs and then once off the cat lord level, you can teleport away from him if you need to. Some people even go as far as to set up the level ahead of time full of webs to try and slow him down. Not sure if potions of blindness or confusion do much good. Arrows or quarrels of Humanoid Slaying should help a lot if you have them.

Yes sadly I didn't wait for a reply but tested the skills of the cat.. drank my 3 boost speed potions and went to melee him to critically injured.. and Drank a potion of extra healing instead of ultra healing and died. extra healing sounds pretty good but its kinda crap:p

lesson learned:)

don't use extra potions when fighting the car lord... jk

edit: cat lord not car lord

Blessed potions of extra healing and ultra heal for the same amount. Only difference is that ultra can give more max HP gain.

It's regular healing that sucks.

Piety is superior to healing potions. Actually,
I would say it's overpowered, as it fills your
HP's completely and can be used while stunned/confused.

Piety is a bit unpredictable (or indeed bloody useless) in the ToEF though - I once had a PC die in there recieve 4 bloody heaven sent pick-axes before the Wyrm finished me off. I was pissed off.

Indeed. I had an experience kind of like that back
in ADOM 1.0.0. Bugs couldn't see in the dark, and
casting spells from HP's trained the Ma stat. So
there I was in the darkness, out of HP's and PP's,
and surrounded by killer bugs. I prayed, thinking
I would get a refill of something. Instead I got
light.

PeanutGod: Awwww no! How harsh is that! This is where you need the artefact 'mop and bucket'.

When I play as a spellcaster, I don't use prayer
because it's funner for me. However, a true
athiest PC doesn't even use altars or anything.
For my taste, that's a bit too strict.

Indeed. Seeing as a true athiest would never use water for any purpose other than drinking, or cleaning pieces of paper I suppose, its a pretty tough restriction.

I tend to not bother crowning myself until its too late to make a difference for some stupid reason, but I do pray in the early game, if I can avoid a quick death, I will.
