Tried Dark Elven mindcrafter. Was at lvl 15 in the Big Room. Sent out some wave of damaging mindcrafting thing. Hit the purple 'u' who summons spiders - 'you feel corrupted'. Sent out a second wave - get all the corruptions and die. Check my history: turns out I hit a chaos rat! Instadeath. Wow. |

Bug in the game unfortunately. Waldenbrook, the dwarven shopkeeper, mumbles: "I'd offer 9 gold pieces for yer dwarven child corpse." |

Is that a chaos rat specific bug, or what? I have had some success with 'crafters up to mid game, but don't remember any deaths like that... |

From what I remember it's a case of chaos rats on the other side of normal monsters causing obscene amounts of backlash damage, leading to a horrible death. Never had it happen myself though. Waldenbrook, the dwarven shopkeeper, mumbles: "I'd offer 9 gold pieces for yer dwarven child corpse." |
