Well, after few months away from ADOM I came back and started a nice DE priest. This one was very promising: 2 precrowns on PC 5 (Protector + emerald dagger), first drink at DF gave wish (AoLS), 2 RoDS found on graveyard (SoCR, spellbooks of iceball for the tower), lots of herbs and overall, very easy way up to lvl 20 (post tower). Then I found out that ADOM has another nasty way to kill you: it can desperate you to death! Here`s why: After passing the wall of flame, I came to the casino, only to find the worst loot I have ever seen. The most useful item I could buy there was a spellbook of SoA (which I already had) and that says a lot. After that, the way to lvl 50 was SO BORING: no greater vaults, no vaulet, no shops, no herbs, no even one decent item found. Only a long way down with a lot of crappy monsters (that means: ogres, giants, lichs – IN, GM, titans, dragons – OUT). Second, I have`nt found any item needed for the ultimate ending. That`s right, not even PoCC or WoMC. Worst of all, after clearing the BDC, killeing the cat lord, AKW AND Blup`s mom, I`m only level 32! Still got mana&earth temple, but I don`t think I can gain 12 levels there. (BTW, already did the bug temple and rift so no more exp to milk from those places). Right now I`m very desperate and only bedtime prevented me to quit this guy. I`m thinking maybe try to become only regular chaos god, but thinking of the long way down in ID, after the boring way I had at CoC, that just sucks. |

You could just close the gate :P And to spice things up, try to kill every NPC in the game whilst you're at it. Waldenbrook, the dwarven shopkeeper, mumbles: "I'd offer 9 gold pieces for yer dwarven child corpse." |

If you have slow monster, use that spell on yourself when killing anything in earth temple. Also be strained and bloated, if possible. 4-ish levels. Clear the whole thing. Then mana temple, 2-3 levels going down and doing it (would not recommend slowing yourself when killing the chaos archmage). Then do the grues on D:48, slowed of course. 2 levels here too. Now, for the final 4 levels, either blue dragon cave, bottom level (some wyrms and lot of ancients plus chance of wish which can be used for exp) or just walk around deep D: and wait for *THUMP* sounds. One or two greater molochs or titans later....wham. Level 45. Be patient. Oh, cook the ASB or chaos archmage with fire spell, bless the corpse, turn into neutral, give to terinyo druid for a PoCC. WoMC will turn up. |
