I'm just curious, has anyone ever thought to use booze and a wand of trap creation (or something like that) to set up a quicker route up and down the levels of the CoC?... To be used in conjunction with teleport control. Put a teleport trap near every staircase along your main route of the CoC, step up to it, go Ctrl+T and land yourself on the next staircase... And so on. No need to use up your teleport spells or your spellpoints to get somewhere faster. Might take a few steps every level, but a lot less steps than walking. Of course, it might be impractical to get that many charges... Would you need gratuitous amounts of booze? Too bad there's no liquor store in Dwarftown. WAIT. Why is there no liquor store in a town full of dwarves? :P Are these dwarves... SOBER? Is this all just a waste of time?... You scorch the bong. You feel very hungry. |

I haven't personally tried the infinite booze thing. :P But I understand it in theory. It's just so sad that there's no liquor store in Dwarftown... It would be so much easier that way. How many charges does a potion of booze replace? You scorch the bong. You feel very hungry. |

Oh, yeah, good point, if they're in the next room from each other there's no point is there? :P With one wand, that might take a decent pile of boozes... If you wanted to span D:1 to the casino, for instance, I guess that could take about 30 boozes without holy water. If holy water weren't so precious... If you could dip empty bottles in the river and go drop them on an altar... Or better yet... "You pick up the 30 gallon keg of holy water (20s). You pour the contents into your pack." lol, wouldn't that be convenient? You scorch the bong. You feel very hungry. |

maybe a little too convenient :P since D:1 to D:9 are not corrupting, you could skip making teleport traps in those. unless you're *really* trying to save time.
