The amulet of order I got for killing Hotzenplotz was destroyed by an acid trap, and I'd like to get another one. The Guidebook says that if you take Tywat Pare somewhere that outlaw types can be found, he'll hand you a deputy's badge which is an amulet of order, but that didn't work for me. I took him to Lawenilothehl, and he went crazy killing the inhabitants but didn't give me an amulet. Could that be because thanks to my uncontrolled teleportitis I was away from him when he killed his first "evil bandit", or could it be because I was doomed? I then tried again with a random encounter with bandits but it still didn't work. Are amulets of order ever randomly generated? I don't think I've ever found one, although I've seen amulets of balance and (rarely) chaos. I know I can get one by being crowned lawful, but I have to get to L+ first. |

The sheriff will only give the amulet to lawfuls. I'm guessing you weren't lawful or else you wouldn't want one. He should give it to you immediately after he follows you into holeinthewall. Sometimes if your speed is too fast for him you can obtain it by chatting to him. And yes they can be found randomly, their not obscenely rare, perhaps about as rare as an amulet of life saving.
