adom can you have more than one book of confucious?

If you want to use a potion of exchange and eliminate or reduce your chances of getting UNdesirable items, can you hold onto ONE item in inventory or stored somewhere without it being destroyed -- or better yet, simply have found the item and thus eliminate its chance of being created?

Not sure but only artifacts are surely one of the kind in any game
