Ok recently i've been doin' some research into how to make scores as high as possible -

The first and easiest way to increase ur score is sacrificing... every gold piece sacced gives (on average) 0.48 points (upto a maximum). Which means if you sacrifice 20mil gold to your god you'll gain about 10mil score. After 20mil gold it's approaching the limit, and anything more then 30mil won't give anything. (This seems to agree with the guidebook's maximum)

The next is to carry as many valuable items as possible. Every gold piece gives (on average) 0.002 points (also upto a maximum). However this is not practical because the maximum any charactor would be able to carry would be about 40mil gold which only gives a 1mil score bonus. If you're carry as many valuable items as you possibly can out of the game you'll get the maximum amount of points. There seems to be a maximum of 4 million points gained by items carried (this seems to disagree with the guidebook's 20mil).

Experience is the third thing i tested and it seems that every experience point gives 0.07 (roughly) score points (this seems to disagree with the guidebook which gives by 0.1 per experience point). Say if you have 100mil experience points at the end of the game that gives 7mil points.

note: That after you leave the drakalor chain and have won the game these bonuses are quadrupled.

So it seems almost irrelevent how the game is played and how long it takes as long as you win with max. piety, lots of experience and equipment you should be able to get a rather high score.

With a girdle of greed you can carry a near infinate amount of gold (up untill you reach the max for the data type used to store carrying capacity anyway...).
