I should have frozen the whole lake. I fought the Skeletal King against the south wall like I always do, but he confused me when he was fleeing. Next time, I'll make sure to have something that boosts resistance to confusion and have a higher willpower score before I go after the RotHK. There isn't much in the inventory because I was lugging around over 6000s of items, which I stored just below the stairs on this level (with my luck, I probably had an AoLS or RoDS there, but I'll never know). The Willpower is low because I kept eating claw bug corpses, and I did not find a reliable source of herbs until venturing into the first and second levels of this dungeon. I wasn't doing as well as I would have hoped; I accidentally forgot to ask for the Arena quest before running off to do it (I saved the game right after getting the reward for the quest before, and when I came back I knew I had to go to the arena next), and I also killed a cat by accident. The cat was just out of LOS when I casted Acid Bolt, which unfortunately had a range that was out of LOS. I didn't know it was there until I got the message that often comes with killing a cat. Moral of the story?
