Dahlmar's goal was to become an ultimate chaos god.

Dahlmar was trying desperately to produce an amulet of life saving, and was running 
out of options. He drained all the pools he could find. He remembered that 
sometimes the dead are buried with precious relics, so he proceeded to the dwarven
graveyard.

With few graves left to plunder, he dug a tomb that claimed to house great treasures, 
from which an emperor lich arose from its depths. Dahlmar managed to flee it while 
stumbling away in a daze due to the mental confusions the emperor lich barraged him 
with, but ever the fool-hardy, and with little hope left to fullfill his desired 
destiny, he relentlessly returned to combat the emperor lich. Carelessly determined 
to vanquish the undead atrocity immediatly, he repeatedly fell victim to its mental 
intrusions and found himself recovering several times outside the cemetary. Yet, he 
hopelessly continued his persistant attacks when, from a distance while blindly 
fireing bolts of fire into the shadows, oblivious to the effects of his seemingly 
insignificant attacks, a malignant force emerged from without, sent from the unseen 
horror in the reaches beyond...

A bolt of energy hit him... he died...

The emperor lich had been more than leniant. There is a limit to pity and patience, 
even in the afterlife.
