NOTE: this file may contain comments or information that is considered SPOILERS, if you do not wish to learn this information pleace leave now. Greed once again claimed a very promesing character... This character got of a a good start when he found a hand axe of mayhem early on (3d6+7 dammage!), using this amazing weapon he was eable to dispatch claw bugs, undeads and even the odd construct in the early days (before he got telecenetic blast). The weapon was eventialy lost to a long fingered ratling duelist who disarmed him and then ran away with it into a swarm of claw bugs and green slimes (this was in the cavernous on DC:6, just abowe the puppy). Having nothing to put up agaisnt the mindless hordes he was forced to use his wand of teleportation just to get out with his life. As he dashed up the stairs to safety he wowed to return later to re-claim his weapon. After having identified his remaining weapons he found a orcish dagger of weeping, and used it for his main weapon (the dammage was poor but the bleeding more than made up for it against most enemies), he also kept a mithril scimitar (against oozes) and a swift battle axe as backup weapons, and did quite well. Once he hit dwarftown he used two more charges from his precious wand of teleportation and armed himself with "Rolf's Companion". He was about level 13 at this time, but he had enough presence of mind to do a couple of the dwarven elders quests before he headed for the pyramid (ran into a few excited levels on the way so by the time he stood before the dark gate of the pyramid he was level 16 and armed with the dwarven elders wand of fireballs. Thanks mainly to the before mentioned wand he was eable to dispatch the undead ocupants of the mummy lord's court (himself included) with relative ease, and once they where gone the remaining guards where left in a constant state of confution as they where beeng hacked to pieces. After a quick stop over at the outlaw town to get rid off some exess bagage he headed for the SMC to look for the stairs down (he had already explred about 90% of the cave, he was not COMPLETELY suicidal). After spending an additional two charges of his now depleted wand of teleportation, and a potion of invisibility he finaly managed to dive down the stairs with roughtly 50% of his health still intact (nasty extremely experienced claw bugs). On UD:1 he got a surge of power, carefully rounding each corner he came just in time to see: "what's-his-name, the master swordslan equips a pair of shiny bracers". Oh no you don't he shouted and rushed in. The master swordsman was extremely experienced, and quite buff, furtunately it he was just as weak minded as the rest of his ilk, and Derok, made sure he never got the chance to spend a single turn without beeng very confused. After a long, but rather one sided battle Derok could finaly grab his loot, the bracers of War (Yeah!). Unfortunately the store in the HMV ran out of cash very quickly so he was not eable to get rid of all his armor (he was like all my characters very greedy and wouldn't even consider to drop some of the heavy armor without getting any money for it). Anyway, after trecking back to the outlaw town once more to get rid of the remaining junk he proceded to the puppy cave again. Killed off all the claw bugs and green slimes, killed the ratling duelist and retrieved his hand axe of mayhem (didn't realy need it at this point, but it was a matter of principle). There was an altar on this level too, so he hung around for a while eventualy getting extremely close, however he was to low level to become pre- crowned at the time seeng as he had had quite a few artefact generated by now. So he headed back up again. Then he proceded to clean out the dwarven graveyard, kill Nonak and free Griffs spirit and all that. By now he was quite buff so nothing proved much of a challange. This is where it started to go wrong. He descided like every character before him to loot the graveyard. He tracked down a "great treasure" and dug it up... Next thing he knows he's face to face with a king Lich, and then he's surounded by ratling master theifs who all procede to punch through his armor. He used a new wand of teleportation to make a strategic retreat and heal up, but did he descide to leave? Hell no. After wielding Nonnaks sword and a pendant of mana he returned to claim his loot. After telekeneticaly blasting the King Lich down to moderately wounded (and getting badly stat drained in the process) he suddenly remembered that he had some undead slaying arrows in his sack. Twang!, Thud! it's all over. Cursing under his breath about why he didn't use the arrows right away to avoid all the stat drains he proceded to clean out all the summoned monsters and claimt he loot (mostly crap by the way)... THEN he descided to dig up a second "great treasure" grave, fuguring he's easily dispatch whatever came up with his great bow skill and the udnead slayers... True enough, the master lich guarding this grave dropped like a stone. However not before summoning a horde of Ghost lords! The first round of aging lowered his strenght to the point where he became overburdened... How for some reason he descided to shoot the ghosts with his undead slayers rather than zapping them a few tiems with his wand of fireballs... Just one of those panicky desisions I guess. When that obviosuly didn't work fast enough he wasted another turn equipping a sword of might and a pair of gloves of carrying tryin (unsucessfuly) to raise his carrying capacity enough to run away. THEN he remembered he had a wand of teleportation (unknown # of charges), however once he zapped is nothing happened (empty I guess). Next thing he knows some rather skinny woman with a syche apear to have a chat with him... Game over.
