In memory of Amanda, this was an attempt to make a Trollish Merchant
into a true and pure paragon of order who did every possible good deed
in the game (saved the puppy, the carpenter and Khelavaster, and also
reunited Blup with his mum).  Many of my previous attempts at this
challenge had failed because of hostile blink dogs which a paragon of
order may not kill.  This time I found a lawful altar on PC:1, which
meant I could turn lawful right away, and no longer needed to worry
about hostile lawfuls.

I found lots of useful herbs in the UD, including stomafillia, and got
crowned at level 10 with the Iron Crown of Havlor.  I didn't find a
good weapon until much later, but in spite of this, I had no
difficulty with the portal quest (the bonuses from my crowning gift
probably helped).  Thrundarr gave me Rolf's Saviour for becoming the
champion of the Arena - I would rather have had the blessed fireproof
blanket and other stuff.

By now I had picked up an RoDS, so I saved Khelavaster and continued
on down the CoC, finally finding a mace of destruction on level 21.
After locating the wall of flames, I went to Darkforge for a long pool
drinking session.  I got two wishes, which went on Concentration and
SLBs, but stopped when I was old (41) and had no more potions of cure
poison to use in the recipe for potions of youth.  While I was killing
the steel golems, I got the annoying message "Your uncursed blanket
{fair} is finally damaged beyond repair!".

I went into the water cave to talk to Blup's mum, but I couldn't steal
anything from her because it might be chaotic.  I told Blup about her
instead.  Then I went to the Tomb of the High Kings, but I didn't find
anything useful there.  In fact, a ghost lord critically hit me, aging
me to very old (50).  I had no wands of cold, so I left and tried to
study my spellbooks, which I wasn't much good at despite my new
Concentration skill.

I didn't feel up to the Tower of Eternal Flames with no fireproof
blanket, and I hadn't managed to train Climbing high enough to do the
Rift, so I went to the Bug Temple instead, but with no useful spells I
had to try to melee the killer bugs, and soon got killed.

So what's difficult about being a true and pure paragon of order?
Here are my newbie observations:

* If you start non-lawful, you may have trouble with hostile lawfuls.
* You can't train anything with Yergius.
* Lack of holy water is a serious problem.  You can't pick pockets or
  rob Blup's mum to get more.
* You can't eat undead corpses, which is part of the reason for my low
  Toughness.
