Nuts!!
I knew those buggers tend to lurk around down there, but I by fingers slipped once
I saw it, and I moved into it by accident (I saw the red A but didn't manage to stop
in time), I hit it once, failing to wound it, and was utterly masacered the following
turn (nasty water breath). Sigh...
This character got off to a deacent start. Picked up pick pocketing, tracked down the
raider lord, dove into the CoC and picked up some cooked lizards, cleared out the
puppy cave, joined the thieves guild, and all that.
I descided to wait a little with the black druid though, I already had herbalism and
I was not in any great need for the rewards at the time either. Besides I wanted to
try to become pre-crowned and didn't want to get any artefacts generated unless I realy
had to.
At level 12 I visited the bug-temple and cleared out the surface level, when I left I was
level 15. Then I did the pyramid. The mummy lord and his guards where compeltely masacered
(invisibility + burning hands).
After the pyramid I dove into the CoC again, I actualy managed to find a Lawfull altar on
D:5 just abowe the huge cave level. After a LOT of sacrefising (I ran up and down the stairs,
ferrying monsters up to the altar from the cavern level), my labour finaly payd off. At my
feet lay the ring of imunity! Nice.
I spent quite a while in the large cavern, collecting herbs and killing things left and right.
Eventualy I continued my descent to dwarftown, did the first quest and sold off all the junk I
had collected along the way. Then I headed back to the surface again to finish off the black
druid.
I descided to stop by the bug-temple again on my way though. As I suspected it was a cake-walk
for a wizard with invisibility and a few deacent bolt spells. Unfortunately most of the corpses
where burned before I could clear out each room, but I did manage to raise my Dex and speed by
a nice amount anyway. After eventualy wiping out all the bugs and making off with all the loot
I stopped by the HMW to sell the exess stuff from the statues.
At this point I noticed that I had picked up a helm of water breathing somewhere, so I descided
to do the water dragon quest too. Had no trouble making it down the first time, but after taking
to Blurp, and returning to get my reward (well, get the messanger started anyway) I was a little
to fast on the keyboard and "ran into" a giant fragon turtle. Bloody frustrating too, I could
probably have taken it easily if I had been a little bit more alert and used some spells.
