This is what you get for not paying attention to your HP status! I was experimenting
with potions of raw chaos, oblivious to the danger, when a sudden explosion from the
materials i was tampering with killed me. My character was doing so well, he had
Skullcrusher (killed a moloch in about 5 blows at aggresive tactic setting, and a
greater daemon with only 1!) and the future was looking quite bright. Had a ring of
ice, finished all the ancient dwarfs quests, coincidentally found an amulet of
life-saving even before reaching the CoC, saved Khelavaster for the first time.
It was all going sooo smooth. And nieve ignorance exploded in my face :). I was
attempting to get a suit of moloch armor. Earlier, in the big cave, a fire vortex
obliverated my only source of stomachfilia herbs, forcing me to rely on the ratling
traders. I tried to avoid the arena level due to this (to avoid the gamma 12 holocaust).
I hadnt even gotten crowned yet, i was intending to squeeze one more gift out of
Ka-Omsh before becoming his avatar. At the start of the adventure, i new i had a
promising character. I managed to finish the Kranach AND the puppy quest simultaniously.
Pretty impressive! This guy was destined for greatness. But my lust for power convinced
me to override my boundry of conscience, ignoring the voice of reason. Tampering with
the unknown cost me dearly. And once again, the lesson is taught. Experience costs
a high price in ADoM, where the motto is: "Die and learn"...
