Yeehaw!  This win came very close, game-wise, after my last one - I think I
only played maybe three or four games in between.  What can I say?  I don't
play ADoM all that often, but it seems I'm getting the hang of it.  This
was, though, the closest win I've ever had.  Eek.

Gruush had luck both terrific and terrible.  A Chaos Servant in
Khelavaster's room dropped a ring of djinni summoning (guess what I wished
for?), and Gruush was crowned with the Iron Crown of Havlor, aka Julian's
Favourite Artifact (+12/+12 is absolutely awesome).

However, because I didn't want to do the bug temple (chances are I would've
been squashed), SoCRs were pretty limited.  I had the ones Khelavaster gave
him, and that was it.  Due to the fact that the RNG kept wanting to give me
mana battery and stiff muscles, I had to use them pretty quickly, too,
leaving only three for D50. (I cleared all corruption before doing the mana
temple)

I found a ton of artifacts, and sacced most at the end to get back into
The One That Kills' good books - thanks to racist shopkeepers, Gruush
couldn't get much for them.  Uselessness gift was the Black Tome -
very appropriate.  The only thing I didn't find was the Bracers of War.
I suspect they were in the greater red dragon vault.  I decided not to
find out, and dive to D50, a smart move, as waiting any longer would've
had the net result of probably turning Gruush into primal chaos.

In another vault, Gruush found both the Crown of Leadership (sacced - it's
nice, but Havlor's nicer) and Executor.  Executor became his primary
weapon.  Before, he was using Big Punch.  Sure, being cursed on D50 wasn't
great, but I wanted to win tonight, rather than train up polearms, use
the rune-covered trident, and win tomorrow.

I was really unsure if I was going to win.  I was getting corruptions like
crazy on D50, and as can be seen, "Apish" is my first corruption.  Just
before I iced Fistanarius and threw the levers for good, I got the Ancestor
message, and noticed my dex had fallen to 1.  Yipe.  Is it possible to
completely de-volve with that corruption?

Regardless, I didn't want to find out.  I high-tailed it out of there,
happy to finally win with a merchant.  I love playing merchants.

Incidentally, and I don't know if this is a known bug or not: potion
merchants don't auto-identify potions that you haven't seen before that are
generated in the casino shop.  Every other shop does it right (Gruush found
an orcish potion merchant on D3 or 4), but not the casino.  Is this a bug?
