Anyway, the story.

This character had unearthly luck. First she runs into a spellbook of Lightning
Ball in the UD. Then she found the phial and a climbing set in the GRD before
any stupid gremlin picks them up. Having done the Dwarven quests and picked up
the Crown of Science in DFG, the ToEF was easy, but still the hardest point
overall. I don't know where I lost the AoLS I picked up, but the WoWi on D:15
more than soothed my disappointment. But the biggest thing was a surge of
power on D:5, with the emerald dagger guarded by a named chaos plague bearer.
Even though the rabies it infected me with almost killed me (before I remem-
bered my potion of ultra healing from the HMV), it was *the* weapon in this

After Khel was secure and everything else was in order, I plunged to the CoC.
There's not much to tell about that, really, except that a few well-placed
wishes worked wonders - such as "spellbooks of Acid Ball" and "rings of tele-
port control" - yes, I *did* have to wish for that! As for scrolls of magic
mapping for D:50.

Corruption never got to be an issue. I had a maximum of five, and the only
ones that could've posed a threat - Poison Hands and Mana Battery - were
quickly removed.

All the elemental temples were milk runs with either ball spells or Burning
Hands - the Mana temple was the only one I prayed in, and in the Earth temple
I had to drink a few of those precious PoUH's.

All in all, I had everything one could have had early on, my favorite class
with probably the best suited race for it. What could I have done besides win?

... well, a lot. It was the work of a total idiot to lose that first AoLS. As
well as that greater vault of karmics where I bought myself an instant curse
and doom. And I didn't realize what I was fighting when I saw the ultra-
boosted cat lord. Oh well, there's still much to learn :) Like removing un-
natural aging and avoiding "*I* hereby punish thee, puny mortal!" when con-
verting an altar.
