Blessed Invisible Bleeding

Orion's sudden death was by the massive fury of attacks unleashed by a greater
moloch. Twas the most careless death i've ever had. I was in front of the door
when i opened it, and i identified the moloch's presence from 1 square away. I
absent-mindedly accidentally stepped towards it and got pulverized immediatly
following from over 12 consecutive attacks (i had to press the space bar about
3 times). I was at full health :). Amazing, eh? Well, just so you have an idea
as to how powerful the creatures are at this depth in the seemingly (what i
intended to find out!) infinite dungeon, a normal rat has over 800 HP. Not so
surprising after you consider that.
After acheiving the 2 minor goals out of the three he had intended upon entering
the Drakalor Chain, which were:
1) To obtain the Trident of the Red Rooster.
2) To thwart the efforts of chaos (close the gate; ...temporarily...).
and finally, "Orion's quest":
3) To solve the mystery of the (seemingly) infinite dungeon.
Orion decided to enter the (seemingly) infinite dungeon (as opposed to leaving
the chain and reuniting with his community to selfishly claim glorious fame and
fortune), with the intent to discover if there was indeed an end to the ancient
caverns. I fantastically imagined that Thomas Biskup had placed an alter-ego of
himself at the bottom, and the idea still manifests within my head. After all,
Richard Garriot did it (lord British), and if i made a game, i would do it too,
undoubtably in an EXTREMELY perilous and overlooked location.
I didnt find one wand of wishing at all in the game, much less in the ID. Just
one ring of djinni summoning, and an artifact... speaking of which, allow me to
elaborate on what i found to be a very strange instance. When i was leaving lvl
844 and before entering 845, a message appeared saying: "You suddenly notice more
stuff in your backpack." I checked it after i entered lvl 845, and it was the
leather armor "Natures Companion". Strange! Even stranger, was that i repeatedly
threw it away, but whenever i left a lvl it would reappear in my backpack, like
a cursed si. (???)
To explain the high attribute scores, i will explain. For about 6 months
(game-time), i hunted for specific attribute-enhancing creatures in the wilderness.
Seven league boots and a long bow of hunting are drastically essential for hunting.
To increase strength, i hunted for stone giant lords, and a few giant boars (highly
un-recomended; not worth the +St/-Wi exchange). To increase learning, i had gemology
(mined for crystals of knowledge). For willpower, there was nothing i could do but
wait for potions and train with Garth (occasionaly finding an ancient black dragon).
Ditto with charisma, appearance, and perception. To increase dexterity, i ate elves.
And to counter the side-effects and increase to, i hunted for wights and wraiths in
the swamps. Mana was improved by kobold shamans, and speed was increased by quicklings,
which appeared in every wilderness environment. Some people refer to this method as
"scumming", which i disagree with, as i find it sounds disrespectful and implies
shamefull or dishonest behavior. Hunting the wilderness and body-building your character
is not "scumming". It is preparing him for the challenges that lie ahead. It is equally
as respectful, honest and tedious as sacrificing creatures and/or items to your diety
on an altar to become pre/post/crowned, or emptying a dragon vault to collect the
treasure. It is an activity that improves your characters chances to succeed withou
cheating, hacking, or dishonest tampering in anyway whatsoever. So i urge all to
consider using another referance to this activity. I prefer to call it "body building",
"hunting" or "training".
Anyway, this was my first character to obtain the (disappointing) trident of the Red
Rooster (gained through the "scroll of omnipotence" mentioned in the strange message,
which is actually the crumpled scroll). I was going to change my plans and try to
discover the ultra-lawful ending, but then someone discovered and pointed out that it
wasnt yet possible in this version, so i sticked to the plan.
