I am Rob, the gnomish bard. Arriving in the Drakalor Chain, I take
a quick inventory of my musical instuments to ensure they are still
in fair condition. I slip on my blessed seven league boots to
swiftly accomplish the task to which Rocky and I have dedicated our
lives to. My family will be proud, I swear.

I shake my head to the Gods above when I realize Rocky, my giant
racoon, cannot keep up with me. After greeting the Sheriff and
Village Elder of Terinyo, I head to the shop to load up on supplies.
Perhaps Rocky can keep up with me when I am enburdened.
On the way, I chat with silly crying child. The world is such a
cruel place.

Enjoying the slight wind ruffling out hair, we head to a small cave
in the northwestern ridge. I mount a torch on my pack, but it seems
there's enough light filter through the dark to save it for later.
In fact, theres enough light to read by -- someone kindly left a
couple messages near the entrance for the next unwary travelers.

We head down a corridor, and I am still moving twice as fast as
Rocky (I'll have to get him a couple pairs of these boots too.)
My daydream is interrupted since a kobold is trying to stick arrows
in me. I flip him the bird and side-step his next shot. Shot
after shot comes near me, and I watch them fly into the wall on
either side of me. Eventually Rocky arrives and the kobold quickly
falls to one of the raccoons three swipe combos.

Now we encounter a goblin -- nothing of great note, just another
plaything for Rocky. As will be the animated skeletons, orcs, and
bats.

As we move towards the far side of the cavern, I offer Rocky a rat
which he stepped on. He doesn't want it. I take a chomp of the
critter and discard it, both from my hands and my stomach. I found
an unremarkable longsword, which was certainly better than my
shortsword. At some point I moved my small body around Rocky to
see a decapitated giant rat. Rocky was obviously not hungry, so I
ate that, and managed to keep a calm stomach.

After finding a blanket, we decide to leave this timid place. On
our way, Rocky is kind enough to dig up some ore and a gemstone for
me. I pet him on the head and say "Good boy." Rocky, the giant
raccoon, grunts: "Rrrrrr!"

I'm blinded by the bright sun as climb the stair from this small
cave. Blinking, trying to clear my vision, I hear what can only be
archers' bows twanging, and arrows whistling near me. We are
ambushed by a roving barbarian group. I can only see half a dozen,
but there's far more than that shooting at us. I run, feeling
fortunate that I am only 3'4". The barbarian leader shoots an
arrow at me! Rocky, the giant raccoon, is nearly hit by an arrow.
I am wounded. Still, I am out running both the warriors and my
slow-footed friend. Just a little further and...

_______________________
Best character I've had that never made it past level 1.

First char of mine to start with 4 talents.

Would have been great got the blanket, that's a good first
step.

My slow giant raccoon (90 speed)
was able to tunnel, and with my gemology, metallurgy, and
smithing the future would have been good.

Starting with Detect Item Status? Wohoo!

Starting with Seven League Boots? Wohoo!

Now, what's funny is that I'm rather sure I didn't kill
anything. (I checked my kill list right before I exited
SMC; died immediately in wilderness)

FLG says 1 hobgoblin for 1 xp and 2193 points.
HOF says 24 xp and 1783 points.
