I think this is the stupidest way to die. I used my only scroll of
teleportation to get in the Dwarven Mystic's room, and I thought I'd
use the last charge on my wand of trap creation to create a
teleportation trap once I spoke with him. Imagine my surprise when the
trap turned out to be an alarm trap. Desperate, I wrenched a final
charge from the wand (I didn't have anything to recharge it with and
tried it on the space to the right, where my PC stands in the
screenshot. It was an arrow trap. So I used all seven of my scrolls
of monster creation hoping for a pixie (for teleportitis), a wand of
trap creation (if anything, it was the tile in the upper left corner
I needed), or something that would teleport me out.
I even used my only scroll of familiar summoning, hoping for something
that could potentially get me out. Sadly, the walls can't be dug, and
gods don't send wands of teleportation here. My two potions of wonder
afforded me Heal Serious Wounds and Summon Monsters, but the latter
summoned monsters OUTSIDE the Dwarven Mystic's room. Oh well. If I
had spellbooks, I might have had a chance to be teleported out by one,
but I ignored spellbooks whenever I found one. I was well on my way to
proving that Trollish Mindcrafters were anything but impossible--in
fact, I don't see how they're so difficult. Once you find some decent
equipment (don't use two handed weapons), it's just a matter of getting
the experience points.
I don't know where "Iron Fist" are. In fact, I didn't know they were
generated until I had died.
