Another normal ending... sixth one already...
Quite a plain game, except for a very early wish (before dwarf town) and
two precrownings (I've never had two before). I wished for AoLS,
precrownings were "Nature's Companion" (lawful) and "Hammerhead" (chaotic).
Before dwarf town I got crownded in neutral altar (some kind of crowning
from every god :-) and got shock immunity and Iron Crown of Havlor. With
that crown and "Nature's Companion" I had very nice DV/PV from very early
thus most of the game was very easy. Even ToEF was easy despite the fact
that drakelings suffer fire damage even with fire immunity.
Later I bought Ring of Immunity from the Casino, first _real_ fight was
with Cat Lord. I used dozen zaps of wand of fire ball, many acid bolts and
some arrows of penetrating. Next tough fight was in the Mana Temple. Nuurag
was easy (meleed, not a single stat drain, weird), but after killing him
I decided to convert the altar (I thought you get a wish or something on
D50 if you convert all elemental altars). I got badly surrounded by the
chaos servants and greater chaos servants that were summoned by the chaos
wizards. I killed hundreds of them before I managed to kill the wizards and
escape.
Few levels after dwarf town I had found a ring of djinni summoning, but I
forgot to take that to D50. Never used that ring.
On D50 I had a problem. I knew that I can't go to the gate room because
those chaos wizards will summong dozens of chaos servants, and they are too
though (killed 200 greater chaos servants already), but I don't have single
wand of destruction thus I can't destroy the levers. I must get the balors
killed without waking up those darm wizards...
Well, first I dug tunnels to lever rooms and killed all monsters on those
rooms. I had the teleport spell thus I switched both levers and teleported
to stairs. Okay, let's see... only one balor on the other lever room!
Teleported to that room and killed the balor with demon slaying missiles.
Then I handled the levers again. Great! Again just one balor on other lever
room! I repeated that until only Fistanarius was left. Most of my slaying
arrows had got smashed while killing normal balors and I had only a few
demon and humanoid slaying arrows and quarrels. I shot them all and
teleported to get them back many times until I had only one quarrel of
demon slaying, one arrow of humanoid slaying and to arrows of demon
slaying left. Fistanarius was severely injured, and I couldn't melee him,
because he did critical hits almost every turn, and I didn't have extra
nor ultra healing potions... But I was faster than Fisty. I could use
some spells (mana battery corruption thus no wands). Darn it was a long
battle. Maybe one fifth of cold bolts and magic missiles hit him and after
Fisty panicked it was even more difficult, as he berserked when a bolt
hit him and often teleported away when a bolt didn't hit... Finally after
maybe a hundred bolts he died. I handled the levers again and... it worked!
I thought of getting the TotRR after victory, but I had forgotten my
first kill and also aggravated Sharad-Waador thus no TotRR.
Hmm, I never got a single blink dog corpse, thus I wore a ring of teleport
control for most of the game...
