At long last I had made a mindcrafter who wasn't absolutely terrible. Tintor was a stalwart dwarf who had battled his way through all but the last dwarven quest, and I figured it was time to take on the pyramid. After all, I my blankets and my rings, and detect traps, and at level fifteen I earned the telekinetic blast that actually let me hurt undead. Furthermore, I was at ninth level in staves, using a mithril-shod quarterstaff. I've never actually had a character use a staff as a main weapon, but once his DV bonus reached +17, I couldn't exactly give it up. I worked my way into a corner on the third level of the pyramid, and was gleefully incinerating opponents with my blessed wand of fireballs. I had eight charges remaining, but I was facing a moderately wounded Dorn Beast and a moderately wounded dark orc, and several more mummies were coming, so I decided to save the juice and whack this Dorn Beast creature with my staff.
