Rules
There are no special requirements, anyone can submit character of any level from any ADOM version. I have only one absolute rule: NO CHEATERS.
To be clear, the following is considered cheating:
- Restoring a backed-up save-game of a character that have died in-game for any reason (it is acceptable to keep a backup and restore it if the character was lost to a game or computer crash, and similar out-of-game events).
- Restoring a backed-up save-game repeatedly until you get the desired result from a random event (pools, crowning, polymorphing items etc.)
- Modifying the save file with a save-game editor.
- Modifying an ongoing game by tampering with temp files, memory editors and other such methods.
- Modifying the FLG file to make the character look better than he was (it is ok, and encouraged to trim away boring bits and add some comments though).

Playing with a modified game. Some unofficial third-party patches exist that fix certain bugs. However in so doing they usually also alter the game rules, remove bugged features or make artefacts or talents available that you can not get in the official version (because of bugs). Cheating might not be the right word, but such patches alter the game's internal behaviour and can as such no longer be considered an official ADOM version, and I only accept characters from official versions of ADOM.

Playing with a non-default screen size (set though ADOM-sage or other third-party "shells") is OK though (assuming they do not also alter the game's internal behaviour in any other way), ADOM support a variety of resolutions, such shells simply overcome limitations ADOM is not subject to when running on for example Linux. Please make a note of it in the FLG to avoid confusion though.
Obviously you can trick me quite easily, it's fairly easy to cheat without me ever finding out, but please respect these rules, and help me keep the HoF "clean". Just for the record I don't mind if people cheat at ADOM, I to it myself occasionally, but cheated characters does not belong here, that is all.
Recommendations
And I said there are no requirements to submit characters, I do however appreciate it if you do at least some of the following:
- Copy all the relevant information exactly into the designated forms. It saves me some work, far to often I get stuff like "lvl 5 female toll monk (...)" instead of the proper "L5 trollish monk (F). (...)". Click on the respective "help" links below for more details. This might not seem like a big deal, but it makes my life a lot easier (the statistics page rely on this stuff being exactly right).

Edit your FLG submissions: trim down long boring lists of mundane "everyday" items, add comments to point out interesting things, and maybe even add a story or a brief log of your characters adventure. It makes for a much more interesting read (no one is interested in scrolling though 3 pages worth of unremarkable items, it also bloats the database unnecessarily).
- Avoid very long comments without manual line breaks, the FLG display does not wrap text automatically and forcing people to scroll vertically is ugly. A good rule is to break a line if you go more than a few characters past the width of the screenshot.
Submission
The first time you submit a character you'll need to register a name in the player database first, using the player submission form (or you can just pick <unknown> from the list to submit anonymously). Once you are registered you can ignore the player submission form altogether and just select your name from the drop-down list in the character submission form. Note that players without any submitted characters are periodically deleted, so don't register your name until you have a character to submit.
Once you have submitted a character it will first have to be inspected and approved before it will become visible in the Hall Of Fame. So it might take up to a week or two before a recently submitted character is listed publicly. Usually it should take no more than a day or two though.
