| Have been a bit lazy about updating, there actually have been a bit of ADOM related news recently. 1.2.0 Prerelease 23 have been released to the general public you can grab it at the official download page if you havent' already. The HoF has also been updated with support for the last few versions that where missing. Also Thommas is trying to get "ADOM Deluxe" released on Steam though the Greenlight system. The Steam version will not be free-to-play, but will include some added convenience features, Steam achievements and leader boards as well as some built in "cheat" or "explorer" modes where you can turn off permadeath (at the cost of not being able to unlock achievements). | As suggested by Virbartas I have added a separate category for ChAoS Knights who snuff themselves out by closing the ChAoS gate, seems to be a distinct new ending type. Calling it "Self-defeating ChAoS followers" for now (if anyone have a better suggestion drop me a mail, I do read them even if it takes me forever to get around to do stuff sometimes). Also fixed a few search bugs and added filters for mist elves, ratlings, duelists and ChAoS knights. It's a IRC chat applet, meaning you have to pick an IRC server (can be hard to find one that works well depending on where you live, keep trying different servers in your area, or different networks). The applet will automaticaly join (or create) the #ADOM channel on whatever network you log onto. IRCNet have the closest thing to an official ADOM channel, though there are a good sized ADOM channel on EFNet too, and probably on other networks too (I'm not a big IRC user myself), look around and see what you find. You can save your settings in a cookie so you don't have to go fill out everyting each time you visit. We will still accept e-mails naturaly, but we would rely recoment that people use the new method. Simply click on the "Add your character" link on the menu, and fill out the form there. I think I have provided enough help for you to figure out what goes where. If you already have a character in the Hall Of Fame your name will already be in the database and you don't need to bother with the player submission form. If you are submitting a character for the first time however you'll need to register yourself before you can submit a character. | As some of you might have noticed some people seem to get a kick out of sabotaging other people's hard work... I may have been a little naive in the belief that no one would bother with cracking my humble little site. Guess I was wrong. The problem that gave him access to my password has been fixed though (stupid mistake on my part I'm afraid), and I have made additional changes to make sure no one can simply download my databases in the future. That should keep the script-kiddies at bay... Hopefully no one with some actual skill (other than some insight into how Brinkster's file structure is) will bother with my site. As you can see the HoF is mostly intact, the forums however have lost a lot of data because I don't make backups of it as often. Some of you might find that you no longer have a user acount, in which case you'll have to create a new one. | Sorry about it taking so long, but I have finaly descided to release the new forum for regular use, the few new features I have planend can be implemented without any major changes to the database so I don't think there is any danger of me having to wipe the database anymore. You might notice that there are not that many changes since the "beta" test, and you are right, I haven't gotten around to working on it for a while. But if you run into any bugs, typos or problems let me know and I'll try to get them fixed as soon as possible. | Ok, things seem to be working again... Don't ask me why, but frankly I don't care. Sorry about the downtime people, seems the good people at Brinkster descided to install a new (and better) ODBC driver, wich is good, but they forgot to tell me I had to update my database connections afterwards (at least I didn't know), so all my database connections wend defunct on me :( Anyway I have fixed the problem now (I hope) so everything schould be up and running... It doesn't have the same "rougelike'ish" look as the old one, but from what I have seen so far it is at least a much better system (admin-wise anyway)...
