i have a troll healer that kicks ass, hes only lvl 16 and hes killed thousands, the thing is though, is that he has A-O(or P) corruptions, hell ya thats a ton. i dunno how much longer he'll last and if i should keep playing with him (im already trying to tackle the ToEF). if you say i should keep him when do you advise my troll to enter the ToEf (i have fire immunity but no item protection [only a cursed fireproof]), since i have to leave all my regeneration items behind he heals a ton slower than usual but he still heals pretty fast. im a n00b and i save scum... the main reason im getting these corruptions is because i was addicted to the moon sickle, damn i shoulda offered it. any way to save me???? Moon sickle is evil - it kills, but each hit gives you corruption. Offering if will draw your alignment to L. You should uncurse it (scroll of uncursing, holy water) or get disarmed (ratling fencers, duelits, warlords). And then do what you like - it does not corrupt when it doesn't kill. A pessimist sees a dark tunnel. An optimist sees a light at the end of that tunnel. A realist sees a train. And the train driver sees three idiots on the tracks. |

You can't bless Moon Sickle - dipping it into holy water or any potion will just make a potion of raw chaos. |

Forgot about that, sorry. BTW - the incomplete list of "evil" artefacts (saccrificing them is a lawful act): - ancient scythe "moon sickle" - crown of science (yes, it's evil, but does not corrupt) - crown of chaos - medal of chaos - scepter of chaos Anyone noticed some more? The shield and amulet of raw steel may also be evil, but I never sacced them while being neutral (if you are N= and sacc one of those you char moves to N+ ), so I don't know for sure. ya it was uncursed (for a long time) now does that mean if i take it off my corruption madness will end? ( that moon sickle was sweeeeet! :-( ) and how will i get rid of my existing corruptions? i only have one scroll of corruption resistance. how much longer will my troll last? (i have all the "annoying" corruptions) another reason for these corruptions (i think) is because i became the champion of ChAoS when i got crowned. im thinking im going to last only 2-3 more corruptions and the game ends are u guys saying that being chaotic- is not the right way to play the game? because i want to be evil evil evil but then again the corruptions will kick in but i still want to finish the game what weapon do you guys recommend for my troll after i take off the moon sickle?? i have 10 in polearms and 2handedweapons The motto for my troll: See it, Smell it, Eat it! Have you got a source of teleportation? How about a Blink Dog corpse? Get the scroll in the closed room in the HMV. Bless it, then read it. It should get rid of a few corruptions. If you've already done that, try getting an AoLS for Khelly. Other scrolls can be found in Bugville, but a level 18 anything would just be sliced and diced, so forget that (though you'll need it later). Yes... definitely. Becoming a champion of Chaos will give you corruption, and get you corrputed faster afterwards. In the future, you'll want to put off being crowned C until you know the extra corruption won't be a problem. I stick to Neutral, personally, so I don't know exactly how severe the corruption increase is, though. Yes... you can carry Moon Sickle around with you, and it won't corrupt you. It only corrupts you when you use it as a weapon. Get yourself a good weapon to replace Moon Sickle ASAP; you'll want one of the higher metals so you can use it in the ToEF. Obviously, you need either a polearm or a two-handed weapon, or both. Spears are a good choice; an orcish spear made of mithril or better is usually very good, and you can use a shield with it. If you're born in the month of the Raven, the Runed Trident is a good choice; water breathing and Blup's mom should get the trident to you fairly soon, but with all those corruptions, you can't afford to waste time looking if you don't have a source of water breathing. You won't necessarily need rings of ice, IF you can find the above-mentioned items in higher metals (mithril, with a backup just in case; adamantium, and eternium), crystal, or artifacts. If you do the ToEF, do it fast. It's a corrupting region. Get the corpse of the orb guardian. Go to Terinyo RIGHT AWAY, blessing the corpse on the way if it starts to rot, and give it to the druid in exchange for a potion. Bless that, and drink it. Corruptions should now be down to a manageable level (if you haven't died yet, that is). Did I mention you'll need lots of holy water? :) No. Playing as "evil" is not the "wrong" way to play; it is, however, more challenging (corruptions, not being able to get some quests, etc.) than playing as Neutral or Lawful. I'd say Lawful is probably the easiest alignment to pull off. The few times I've attempted a character that starts out chaotic and stays that way, I haven't ever lasted much past level 15. So call it the Evil Challenge... Die Gedanken sind Frei [Edited 1 time, last edit on 6/8/2003 at 12:55 (GMT -5) by Iridia] |

i save scummed like a madman on a brown pool so i have most of the resistances plus teleport/telecontrol... holy shit i let kelly die didn't think my corruptions were going to get so outta hand (well this is my first character that actually got ANY corruptions so im kinda newbish on corruptions) another shitty thing is that i have the poison hands thing so i cant drink anything *sigh* with only a few corruptions before GAME OVER i guess my char is a walking dead troll... bugville? not enough incarnations hmv? only 1 scroll is not enough for getting 15-16 corruptions to a "manageble" number toef? is it really worth it to kill the dragon and drag it all the way to the druid just to get *one* anti corruption potion? what is a manageble amount of corruptions? Do you have thick gauntlets? If so, wear them until you've got rid of the poison hands corruption. They eliminate all its bad effects. Try the water temple rather than the ToEF - it's easier and less corrupting. Fire magic is very effective in there. By the way, it's a good idea to cook orb guardian corpses so they last longer. You can do that with a wand of fire. You'll have to do the ToEF sometime, but it doesn't sound as though you're ready yet. Have you ever been down the Rift? If you can get the Ghost Librarian to give you the weird tome, deliver it to the Mad Minstrel and he'll reward you with 5 cursed scrolls of chaos resistance. Does anyone know what happens when you become a fallen champion? If you weren't chaotic, and if you somehow made it to level 30, you could help the white unicorn then ask her to cleanse your corruption. The trouble is that now that you're crowned, your god will get reeeeeallly mad if you change alignment. [Edited 1 time, last edit on 6/8/2003 at 13:19 (GMT -5) by Ekaterin] |

Well, you won't get the trident of the red rooster if you're a fallen champion, nor can you get crowned again. Also, he's at a low level so he'd probably be screwed 'cause the god summons a ton of monsters to kill you. I can't remember but I'd guess that you get cursed and doomed... If I were you, I'd just quit and start a new char. If you're feeling happy, don't worry, it'll go away. this is me forgot to log in uhh, to tell u da truth i can handle the ToEF and everything (nothing can kill me!), ok im bragging but im only worried about my extensive corruptions at such a low level.. my question was if i should abandon him, cheat, hack, or what i dont want red rooster just going for normal ending |

I never abandon my characters, just as a rule. But that's me... I guess, ever since an extremely unlucky dwarven mindcrafter made it to level 24 (my highest without scumming or cheating), I've had this idea that a character's luck doesn't have an impact on survival (unless it's something like a level five elf getting smashed by a stone block at full HP). There's more than just SoCR, isn't there? How about PoCC, which are slightly more common? The Casino is always a possibility, if you can get to it; potions shops are another possibility. I assume you've killed or not taken the quest for the black druid, but I mentioned it just in case. Then you've got the option of switching to lawful and reading a tome of order (requires high piety). Have you drained the Darkforge pools for wishes? Die Gedanken sind Frei |

Changing to lawful would be pretty bad 'cause he's crowned chaotic :) The summoned greater demons would at least drain his stats pretty bad and corrupt him further if they didn't kill him. But you might want to mess with shops as Iridia said. If you see potion shops, you could try to buy them out and see if they restock with PoCCs. That's 'cause shops restock faster when their empty. Same thing with scroll shops&SoCRs. If you can make it to D:30 you could have some fun playing the slots and buy out the casino :O Also if you were to get your hands on some wishes you might want to wish for SoCRs. If it hasn't been mentioned I'd also like to add that, if possible, always bless your PoCCs and SoCRs. In fact if they're cursed they corrupt you instead of removing it :/ If you're feeling happy, don't worry, it'll go away. i guess ill resort to save-scumming a pool especially the darkforge level i cleared out how many SoCR can you wish for at a time? [Edited 1 time, last edit on 6/9/2003 at 13:08 (GMT -5) by its author] |

Don't ask for a specific amount. Just ask for 'scrolls of chaos resistance' exactly like that. You must be careful how you word your wishes. Once I wasted a wish asking for 'spellbook of iceball' instead of 'spellbook of ice ball' That sucked. If I recall, you get around 3, maybe more, maybe less. bz |

Yup - those gauntlets (must be "thick gaunlets") disable the poison hands corruption (both the downsides and the benefits). And yes, you get 3 scrolls of CR A pessimist sees a dark tunnel. where can i find thick gaunlets because ive never seen one... ps: my troll healer is lvl 16 with 50+ PV, is that good for my level? |

J. Registered user You'll never get rid of me Last page view: 5874 days, 23 hours, 47 minutes and 21 seconds ago. |
Well, if you savescum at pools to get wishes can't you just wish for them? Otherwise they're randomly dropped so you'll just have to rely on your luck to find them. Just go to some place with many drops like animated forest or bring gremlins to the dwarven halls and create a water trap there... If you're feeling happy, don't worry, it'll go away. Gremlins don't drop a lot of stuff, it's better to pickpocket them if you want things. Die Gedanken sind Frei |

But if you have a water trap then you have a kazillion gremlins, and considering the danger level in the dwarven halls for example they surely will drop something nice occasionally. Of course if you pickpocket them first it's even better:) We all know the best place to scum for things is probably the BDC but I doubt he's that far yet. Blue Dragon Cave. Near-endgame place w/ lots o' wyrms & Ancient ones... U can gain shitloads of prima stuff in there, but also can lost your SoCR or WoWishing... Eat a blessed lightning lizard corpse before entering (10% chance to get shock immunity) Icesus |

Of cooz ;-) from Barney, but I'm quite sure eating those wyrms and dragobos gives only resistance, but blessed lightning lizard can give full immunity w/ some luck. Correct me if I'm wrong. Icesus |

You're wrong - all blessed corpses that give Lightning resistance can give you immunity the same way, that lightning lizard does. A pessimist sees a dark tunnel. An optimist sees a light at the end of that tunnel. A realist sees a train. And the train driver sees three idiots on the tracks. |

You sure about that immunity? I just ate about 20 lizzies, 10 dragons (blue), a few ancient D's, and even a few blue wyrms, all blessed (yes, I cheated, was trying out my WoW w/ gazillion charges), and then drank a blessed potion of insight.
