Hmmm... Some sort of class that depends strongly on alignment? Maybe a class that's autokilled if they change alignment from lawful or chaotic... that would make for an interesting game. Die Gedanken sind Frei |

Lycanthropes, possibly...although that might be more of a class than a race...oh well. It would be cool to have more classes. |

Thoth here, sorry i didnt have time to sign in. :) Ratling thief undead are kind of fashionable. Does anyone know if you can reanimate Keethrax? Or Kranach? I have gotten their bodies after killing them before, but never with a necro... never had a chance to play. >:D muahahahahaha! As far as Vampires go, i would refer you to the Thread currently at the top of the ADOM forum here. But in this case, it would be a condition, similar to stunning, confusion, blindness, deafness, etc... read more please :) |

I actually tried to animate Keethrax's corpse, and it crumbled to dust. I was into higher levels then (8-9) so it's unlikely that the Necromancy skill just failed on me, though possible, I suppose. "The dead aren't so bad, once you get to know them." |

I think a beastman-esque character would be good. Random transformations at random times. How about create a class? (Alas, Morrowind spoiled me with that.) I had a class called "Sightless" in Morrowind. here are some basics *Proficiency with spears and staves (our canes) *Great Communication skills *Great DV/PV when unarmoured (It's hard enough to travel without 500 stones of armour to worry about.) (I suppose that'd have to be tweaked as clothes are considered armour in adom) *Basically, a cross between a thief and a merchant (obvious problems would be permanent blindness (sans for a 1 square radius because of the cane) Monsters would be an ass though. How would a sightless person id a monster? You can tell type (kobold/goblin/dragon) but not subtype (green dragon as opposed to red) This has possibilities. |

Came up with an idea for a race...The Feral. Pure mana. ST is nearly always under 4, but WI, LE, and MA are through the roof. Carries with WI instead of ST, very very low HP but crazy PP, etc. All of them are affiliated with an element, and start with the bolt of that element (does earth have a bolt?). Obviously very good spellcasters but utterly crappy fighters. As for classes, ghosts-much like the Feral, never need to eat, always have teleportitis and get teleport control at level 6 or so. Eating increases ST and carrying capacity, though. Also alchemists, which get bonuses to the alchemy skill and a new type of item - powders. |

I don't think it's necessarily the best, just the largest. If you're feeling happy, don't worry, it'll go away.
