Still doing it? I'd suggest not to make so many classes at first. It'd be best to start with, say fighter, priest, mage. then later, when those few work, add stuff like assassin/thief, ranger, paladin, battlemage... and not so many races either. human, dwarf, elf first. then later, when the originals work, the sub-thingies and monster-like races, like giants, trolls, orcs etc. Gotta give you A+ for ambition, though. the site is nice, at least ;) Keep it up. Thats what I was going to do Wakka... but my computer crashed a couple days ago, everything is gone. I don't think I am doing this anymore. "I concur that we are both atheists. If its gonna be a HUGE very time consuming game, liek much mroe immense then ADOM, with alot more time put in to do things, let it be saveable and restored from saves. |

Heh, I didn't know how many people wanted me to make this game. You guys must be really hurting for a new roguelike game. Anyways, I have decided to start programming heroica again. Also, I have a beta version for you all to test that i will post some time soon. It's nothing much, you can walk around a dungeon, go up and down levels (the levels aren't restored if you go down again). There is character creation as well. There are almost monsters and items. They should be done within the week. Also, I will be working on a title screen soon, and as soon as I learn how to make an acual town instead of a dungeon, i'll make a town, and then after that I would like to make a wilderness map. Heh this remembers me of some kind of roguelike I started to code 3 years ago when I learned coding with C++Builder (something like real time based Adom meets Angband meets EoB...). It's funny to see how this thing grew and evolved over the past 3 years considering that I'm not working on it regularly... Guess coding a roguelike is a good way of learning a new environment :) The Great Wyrm of Order breathes light (more) - wow, you feel very smart! |
