Yea, i used it when i went back - i had gone there before and done an equip run. Found a lot of nice items, that i mostly sold, cause i haven't had that much problems with weapons (i have found so many good ones in different places, currently using an Eternium Spear, Nonnak, Rolf's Axe, and Sword of Sharpness) and didn't get very good armor (1 or 2 decent ones, no dragon scale mail, nothing above [0, 7]. Pretty much got Tomb of the High Kings, Gremlin Cave, and diving to the wall of flames as possibilites left before the tower. EDIT: btw, how do i lose intrinsic invisibility, or should i keep it? You can only lose it through pools. Not worth the trouble of trying to lose if you ask me. It can be a real nuisance, especially since pickpocketing will now also been chaotic, but it does provide a few advantages too. Hrm... well, if i can't lose the intrinsic (i don't even have any potions of visibility for the temporary solution), how can i lure Glod off the level? No one follows me off the lvl anymores because im invisible, and im afraid to attack him in town, in fear of alienating the entire town. Urgh. Going for 2nd win |

It doesn't work...and I ended up doing something silly =p I went ahead and attacked Glod in Dwarftown, because i was getting a bit upset, and successfully killed him, but apparently it made Waldenbrook go hostile, cause a bunch of muscular dwarfs appeared and started looking for me...i had to kill waldenbrook shortly after, cause he sees through invisibility...i can't afford to kill any more of the muscular dwarves, for fear of becoming a fallen champion (apparently its a chaotic act), so i guess my intrinsic invisibility is now a necessity. I did lock the door to Glod's house so i could still smith in there undisturbed, despite the wandering hostiles (just thought id say they, and Waldenbrook, were the ONLY hostiles, lol) Going for 2nd win |

EDIT: added snip notations, and im wondering how you post the nice, neat versions of this like you have in the RRC threads. Because i really should cut more out of this, and it is more bulky and loses its spacing in the transition to be posted. Haha, yea, i deserve it =p But as you can somewhat see from my newest log, its all good, i did some smithing, got RotHK, beat the water temple, cleared the gremlin cave, and cleared ToEF. Also dove to the wall of flames before coming back. So here is my updated character, ready to dive below CoC D27 (and i guess do the rift and library) Another stupid move on my part: I lost my 7LB's in the ToEF because i totally forgot to take them off once i entered (and i had never found a ring of ice). Good thing i kept a spare pair. Also, the ACW hits DAMN HARD. Man. I stayed at range and he kept hitting me for 80 or so damage through all my immunities...and i ran out of dragon slaying ammo before the fight really started =( thank god i was able to escape, recover, and come back to get my revenge. Sometimes you get lucky though, and the RNG doesn't burn them up right away. Your PC is looking mighty good, and good job taking out the Wyrm. Your next danger spots will most likely be the cat lord. Remember to lead off with disabling potions if you have to fight him, they are 100% effective. Follow up with wands, or whatever you like. I notice that your PC seems more nicely balanced than mine usually turn out. Seems like weapons, missiles, and magic are all developing rather evenly. Well done! Pity about the SLBs (personally they are always the first thing I make sure are safe before stepping near the ToEF), but you'll likely find more when you hit the casino. Amazing looking char now I must say. Getting an eternium tower shield at this stage is great too - I often don't find them till the late game. Yea, and you know whats even better? I just hit a Greater Vault on D:26, filled with OgreLords/Ettins/FomorianGiants/HillGiant/FireGiants (etc.) And i came away with TONS AND TONS of generic loot as you'd expect, a 3rd pair of 7LBs (including the one that got incinerated), Robes of Resistance, Blue Dragon Scale Mail, Emerald Dagger...ahhh, soooooooo much loot. And im lvl25 now! Going for 2nd win |

Man, this game is really going your way now. I really hope nothing screws it up :/ Cat lord, Nuurg-Vaarn and corruption are your main worries now. All can be dealt with. But the Tower is perhaps the biggest hurdle of the game - manage to beat that and everything else topples after. Enjoy exploring the lower depths of the CoC - there are a lot of delights ahead. If you survive the cat lord, you have a good shot at winning this one. You have all the spells you need, for each of the orb levels. Magic missile can be bounced around in Yulgash's room, for an easy kill. Acid/lightning ball for the earth temple goons. You will have to save some of those acid ball spells for the Archmage, as he is only vulnerable to acid and magic missile. Don't forget to wield the Sword of Nonnak when fighting the Archmage, it grants death ray resistance. Again, lead with disabling potions, confusion is best. Put me in the 'fool filter', where I belong! |

Will do, thanks again. I still can't believe that this character is still alive, considering how many firsts i have. My best character until now hadn't even hit dwarftown! So now im wondering though, what should i do next? I know i should abuse the casino (heh) and have been trying to figure out how to go about that, but afterwards, should i continue diving down? It seems that i should skip the minotaur maze, and since my climbing is only 84 so far, diving down further and taking on temples is my best option. What say you? The casino can certainly help beef up a PC. Many books and helpful potions. Remember to take books to the surface to read them, via the DF shortcut. If you read them on D:32 you will get corrupted. Casino gold will also help you to have extremely high piety, so you can use prayers all you want without having to worry. The library will have every spellbook in the game for a wizard, not to mention some SoCR from the ghost librarian, if you do things right. If you feel uncomfortable with your current spell list or amount of chaos resistance, it might be worth considering. Yergius can help you train your climbing skill, if you are a member of the thieves guild. The library is probably not neccassary for your PC though, if you do things efficiently. The Maze should be skipped I think, it's fun in it's own way, but just not needed to win the game. I think you have a great chance of winning, without the library. I'd strongly recommend the library for any wizard. The Rift tends to have rich rewards, and gaining access to all spells is brilliant. Be sure you're prepared though - there can be high level monsters, and obviously extreme equipment destruction when entering the Rift. Waldenbrook, the dwarven shopkeeper, mumbles: "I'd offer 9 gold pieces for yer dwarven child corpse." |

good points both, and considering i wasn't able to play today after all, they're both still on the table =p Random info, but i got my 4th ball spellbook, and 3rd Ball spell (Ice Ball) before i had to quit this morning. Going for 2nd win |
