It may just be me, but it seems as though there are quite a few artifacts that are of absolutly no use whatsoever. Cat's Claw, Black Tome of Alsophocus, Perion's Mithril Plate, Long Sting, Staff of the Archmagi, and Nature's Friend come to mind. I mean you go through all that effort to get (Pre-/Post)Crowned, and what does your diety give you? A lovely Book that corrupts and might give you spell. Or an armour/shield that is easily surpassed by several of the non-artifact variety? I guess I can sell them, and get back the money I just sacced to get this lovely piece of deity-trash. That's only if you want to go for the Ultra endings. If I'm going for those I usually just use the crappy guarenteed artifacts for that (Phial, Anhk, Ancient Mummy Wrap, Sword of Nonnak, Crown of Science, Big Punch, or Ancient Scythe.) I usually don't even bother to try to get (pre-) crowned until I have satisfied the Ratling and Crone. You want to fight? Fight me! HAHAHA |

Some artifacts are useful for some classes only - ex. Whirlwind - if you're not a hurtling archer it sucks, as well as melee weapons - what good is Wyrmlance for examle, if you've never trained pole arms? |
