How do you all choose what type of weapon to train in? For missle weapons, I always choose crossbows, since quarrels are more powerful. I like swords, so if I start out with a character who's got, let's say level 2 in clubs/hammers--damn--what I'm getting at is does it really matter what types of weapons you train in? I prefer swords--two if I have two weapon combat, sword and shield if I don't--that's another thing--do you all choose two weapons, one, what?? Thanks a bunch. |

If I find a good weapon in the early game, I usually specialize in that. If not, polearms, because you can get orcish spears which are fairly powerful, and later on several good artifact polearms (including the TotRR itself). Crossbows are good for non-archers, but I've actually found that archers, who tend to run out of ammo frequently, would do well to train Slings at least as a secondary weapon. Less damage, but you won't run out of ammo anytime soon: rocks are lying around everywhere! Die Gedanken sind Frei |

Whips can be fun... in terms of weapon bonuses, I've heard (though not checked) that they give the largest ones for levels. I don't know about artifact-type ones, though. Space for rent! |
