Isn't it strange that a lawful player can be sacrificed on a lawful altar? There goes my beloved dwarven ranger because of that -stupid- dopplegander... (sniff)

Should NPCs be able to sacrifice lawful players on lawful altars?

Not really...

PCs can only sac lawfuls on a lawful altar if they are willing to make their deity angry.

Chaotics can sacrifice anything.

It's a bug... I mean, think about it--what does being "lawful" mean? Right. You don't sacrifice innocent (lawful) creatures. That should go for lawful NPCs as well as the PC.

Re Iridia's post

Dopplegangers are chaotics and so they should be able to and in my opinion should try to sac any PC on any aligned altar...thats what chaotic means right?

Now as far as lawful monsters go, I agree with you. They should not attempt to sac a lawful PC on any altar. AFAIK, lawful NPCs and monsters will not. (Unless hostile? Haven't tested)

I still think its a crappy way to lose a character though

Nah... even chaotic character would still be selfish enough not to want his deity mad at him for saccing on a lawful altar. Bolts of divine energy can be painful. ;)

There should be a Willpower test for that...I mean to maitain sanity while being a purple "j" or chaos mutant (or anything else you can become). Every turn you have a Wi check, to see if you can continue - test failed, game ends.
