Programs for the poor? Lemme just say this... my mom is on welfare, and she really could work if she wanted to (she's been licensed as an occupational therapist), but she thinks work is sooo stressful (as if!) so she lives on food stamps and church food pantries while one daughter works to pay for a crappy private school (because my mother believes public schools are Of The Devil and would rather have her drop out than go to one) and the other is going to college on three loans, four scholarships, and a lot of dirty dishes. If they didn't give her welfare, she'd be working, and we'd all be a lot better off. Personally? I think we need better agencies to find jobs for people... a better way to find out if someone really does need help (like if they're handicapped)... but NOT more money to give to people who won't work. I think it's stupid that people like my mom can freeload off other people who are working hard for their money. Just my two cents. Die Gedanken sind Frei |

IQ tests ARE just numbers... all they measure is how fast you think. If Einstein came up with the theory of relativity in (say) three years, a normal person could easily do the same thing; it would just take them longer--maybe ten years. At any rate, IQ is highly overrated. Any person, if they don't have an actual learning disability, can learn anything. Some just learn faster than others. Die Gedanken sind Frei |

Now completly off topic.... Toliets, its alright to sit on them without those papers (or so I heard) Back on topic.... That reminds me of adom's learning, books, etc., well I know very smart people who have low IQs (according to test about 97). BTW: I hacked into queendom today... IQ tests though don't measure intelligence as the scope for intellect is too large to fit into one test, they simply measure how good you are at IQ tests, that's all. LS |

This is about music... Very sad! I can only listen to music on saturdays for a couple of secounds. (or minutes) in the libary because we have no connection, and there ARE NO RADIO STATIONS IN THE AREA FOR 50 MILES THAT PLAYS MUSIC I LIKE! The kids kick me off so really I NEVER listen to music, that is one reason my morale is so low, only Country is played in the country. Launch Cast always freezes up! AHAHA! IQ... yeah... those things are way off when it comes to kids, not just ghetto kids... especially young kids. Two kids can have the same intelligence, but one will be reading at age four, and another will wait till they're seven. Development varies with too great a range to tell anything really, until you're at least a teenager. On another thread, someone mentioned that President Bush's IQ is lower than normal (100)... he's not the only one! Apparently, politicians have below-average IQs as often as not. I guess you WOULD have to be a bit dim-witted to want to spend your entire life in politics! Die Gedanken sind Frei |
