has anyone encountered the odd little bug that makes some monsters attack themselves? i ran into it with an orcish elementalist trying to kill tywat pare, i fired a wand of acid at him and it said the usual stuff about him grunting in fury but suddenly it said tywat pare decides to fight to the death in a berserk rage, tywat pare misses tywat pare, tywat pare hits tywat pare and kills him, tywat pare the sheriff looks more powerful.

very strang huh? has anyone else encountered this thing? -Botched

I seem to get it in almost every other game. First time I got it was the first time I played the new version when killing Yergius.

Weird. Never gotten it.

I got one weird too... when I create a char and select the talent that gives +2 to all skill values, ADOM generates some error and returns to windows. Not that I'd really ever yse that talent, but with test chars...it has done it about 5 times.

It always has - the skilled&very skilled talent always caused the "illegal stat increase" error.

Hmm... Can't you get Skilled *and* Very Skilled at the beginning of the game, right after each other?

You can, but the game crashes after Skilled

No it doesn't - it crashes AFTER selecting all talents - i once got Skilled, very skilled, charming, boon to the family and heir. And the game crashed! After I selected heir and started the game. In 1.0 it crashed after selecting, but The Creator fixed that bug. Now there's another bug at work, that he couldn't fixed, because no one knew (known?) about it.

Well, on my game (1.1.0) the game crashes right after selecting skilled.

First of all, you shouldn't be playing 1.1.0. Upgrade to 1.1.1 or downgrade to 1.0.0 if you don't want berserking monsters and jackals that attack harder than greater claw bugs.

In 1.1.0 the game crashed when you picked the skilled talent. TB fixed it, so now in 1.1.1 the game crashes only after you've picked all your talents.
If you're feeling happy, don't worry, it'll go away.

Sorry, my error - insert 1.1.0 instead of 1.0 in my last post.
There were, ofcourse, no talents in 1.0

Well, some addresses were changed. Lost all skills, spells and weapon skills...the pri stats survived as with corrpution, satiation and alignment....back to square 3. *sigh*
anyone interested in such file? I can tell you, it's worth to try to play without corr..no rush, no rush, you can take your time.
