I can't agree more with Bobby, ADOM just plain sucks. The stupid symbols (@, /, $, etc.) are just plain annoying. How can anyone stand to look at some game a 78 year old guy made in his garage? You can't even see the weapon your using. And fighting involves little more than running into other symbols. Anyone who plays this game must be older than the guy who made it. They will come and say mean things to you.

Hey, congrats to Jan! His boards finally made it to the point where they're known wide enough to attract trolls and idiots. I'd just like to known why people who don't like the game visit it's forums but for the sake of not feeding the trolls(you all know they need lots of food to survive right?) I won't ask it aloud. hehehehe =) Adom is a great game, and the people play it are less stupid that people play BANG/BANG/KILL/RUN/NOATTITUDETOGAMEBUTGOODREFLEX and if you are annoyed whane see '@' ')' don't play adom, in my opinion even i can't see the image of weapon or monster, if i see a yellow ~ or a W that changing color I have in the first case i'm very happy in the second very scared =) DaRk ElF PoWeR |

I can imagine most of the things, so I kinda know what the hero feels when he looks upon a color changing W... But I understand why this kind of game seems sucky to someone who plays reflex-only games. You need to think in this one. Gives hard time for the shootout fans there. Yes... I'd like to see some of those people actually survive ADOM for more than a couple of days game-time, much less beat it. The sort of logic you learn playing ADOM and other turn-based RPGs is something you can use in real life, too. What do you learn in games that just require reflexes? Compare the immersion of 3d-shoot-em-up's and Adom: My mother says we are satan worshippers or whatever, as we shout at white _ -letter sumthin' like: "SACRIFICE THAT OGRE AND THEN WE'LL PRAY TO THE ONE WHO KILLS!!!!!" spit gushing forth towards keyboard... wasted... Icesus

I have to agree with both sides. Yes Adom can get boring and is a big drain on time but Ya gotta love the old schoolness. By the way anyway anyone ever play Crono Trigger? Death is only the beginning

Chrono Trigger is cool. I also played it with an emulator. Does anyone of you know Tales of Phantasia? Also a SNES-RPG, but even better than Chrono Trigger. |

I have actually downloaded that and also an english patch into it but haven't gotten around to play it yet.
