Ok, I went into the config so I could umm, well scum easier to get the month I want... and now ADOM won't ask me questions... I tried to get pick locks from Yergius but he just said He thinks I should get training, and wouldn't train me (I'm neutral, BTW) and then it wouldn't ask me if I wanted to leave when I tried walking away from the bandits in a wilderness encounter. You wish to kill me? Good thing I brought my psychic hamster named Hamster with me... |

I don't know how you could get it that messed up just messiong with the configuration file... you can easily change the variables for asking questions, and Yergius probably wouldn't train you because you either already had the pickpockets skill or had robbed a shop... but the deal with not being able to leave the wilderness is just odd. Try downloading ADOM again. Copy the old Hiscore and adom.cnt files into the new folder so you can get into Bugville. Die Gedanken sind Frei |

OH! I probably robbed the shop- Wait, does going invisible count as robbing the shop? And I didn't have pick pockets, I check when I leveled up... You wish to kill me? Good thing I brought my psychic hamster named Hamster with me... |

Of course it counts! No matter how you take items from the shop, be it with the help of invisibility or teleporting, it counts as stealing :) If your configuration file is messed up just delete it and adom will create a new default config file. If you're feeling happy, don't worry, it'll go away. Jurne, you don't even NEED the pick-locks skill. All you need to do is 'K'ick the locks down. |

It's a picture of a character trapped in the gremlin cave. EvanOvadia, you need to locate the water trap that's causing all those gremlins to multiply, then either disarm it or sit on it and hack away until all nearby gremlins are dead. Bright light damages gremlins, so casting the spell of light may help here. Being invisible also seems to help, because the gremlins mill around aimlessly rather than going straight for you. |

Hey does anyone know where to get a lot of spellbooks (besides the library)? Im running low on bolt spells. "What is this 'brain' that you speak of? Where can I get one?" "BoW, LeSsEr OnE!" "You're still alive??!! But I paid them so much..." [Edited 1 time, last edit on 7/3/2003 at 20:54 (GMT -5) by Verdagon] |

There are no other guaranteed spellbooks. You could scum the ID or the blue dragon caves(if you're that far). It would also be a good idea to start training those melee&missile weapon skills which I guess you have neglected a bit until now. Even with a spellcaster you shouldn't rely totally on spells. Nevermind, i found an excellent source of books. go to the dwarven graveyard and start digging up graves! if something too hard comes up, just grab all the items and teleport outta there to go dig another grave. Thats how i got 5 of my new spells (including improved fireball!(I love that spell))! --- BoW, LeSsEr OnE! "What is this 'brain' that you speak of? Where can I get one?" "BoW, LeSsEr OnE!" "You're still alive??!! But I paid them so much..." |
