I'm not exactly a newbie but I'm not that good either. Anyway, I have just gotten down the CoC to the stairway thats blocked by some dwarven stone or something. You probably know what i'm talking about. How do you get the elder guy to flip that switch. I could just kill him but im a lawful char. how do you do that? And another unrelating question, how do you dig up graves? Im sorry if im bugging anyone by leaving so many threads in this forum... I have a pretty good char. right now. He's a level 20 human fighter who has already cleaned out Darkfordge and has a blessed eternium two-handed longsword (+18 5d6+20) [-1 +0] so whatever's ahead shouldn't be a problem. Speak to the dwarven elder, and ask him about "Portal". He'll give you a quest that you'll have to complete before he opens the passage (the quest includes a graveyard, hordes of undead, a lesser version of the master summoner and a tough wannabe-dwarven-hero). You can dig up graves by 'U'sing a pick axe, and when it asks the directory, just press '5', so that you actually dig below your feet. Or you can simply equip the pick axe to your tool slot, and then use it. Joka vitsaa säästää, saa kaatumataudin [Edited 1 time, last edit on 7/14/2003 at 18:52 (GMT -5) by Crimson King] |

Also, you may try using a wand of digging if you have a pickax (Crimson, where can we get some?) and just pressing . or 5 Digging up graves is a very good source of treasure and spellbooks, and medium-rare items. Unfortunately, monsters that are very powerful often jump out at you. For instance, I was a L21 Gray Elven Wizard, and I dug up a grave using mystic shovel, and a master lich came out and creamed me. That was on the CoC graveyard... Never went back since... Hopefully, you didnt have the same fate =) "What is this 'brain' that you speak of? Where can I get one?" "BoW, LeSsEr OnE!" The most treasure is found in graves that say: 'great treasures are buried here'(duh!). They are also always guarded by a master(usually)/king(a bit rare)/emperor(watch out!:P) lich. Apparently Verdragon dug up one of those:) If you're feeling happy, don't worry, it'll go away. Pickaxe? Well, you missed the pyramid, so... Dwarven chaos knights always give me an unlimited supply of pickaxes. Imagine a carmic popsicle - First it is red and tastes like strawberry. Then it turns blue and tastes like blueberry. And if someone takes it from ye, he or she gets cursed and doomed. |

So Darkforge or the wildlands little south of pyramids are your best bets. - May the blood of thine enemies stain the ground - |

Yes, there is a guaranteed pickaxe in the pyramid, and if you just care to waste a few minutes in the darkforge, a dwarven chaos knight should pop out. You must clean the darkforge first, though (might be "a bit" tough if you can't handle a master lich). :) And I never dig up any other graves than the "Great treasures are buried here" because I usually play with lawful characters, and I don't really think losing your alignment is worth of the crap that you get out from the "normal" graves. Seemed to have borrowed some of my sis' dyslexia... Verdagon: you were talking about graves so I added some tidbits of info about graves. I wasn't sure you knew everything since you seemed surprised of the master lich. And I don't see how 'digging up graves is a good source of treasure' is referring to pickaxes:) If you're feeling happy, don't worry, it'll go away.
