1. How to use statues?
2. Is there any other way to destroy water traps than with "disarm traps" spell?

Maybe stupid questions but please advice...

1. Those big, heavy stone statues? Kick them till they break.
2. Heh, yeah, the disarm traps skill. You can get that from the master thief in Lawen...err...that town with the mangled name.

Statues also make great weapons and door busters.

Umm, maybe not so great weapons. They do good damage but you'll never get a good to-hit 'cause they don't train any weapon skill. Sure if you really role-played a troll and only weilded big heavy things like logs and anvils. But I've also read somewhere that they can be thrown at doors to break them down(like other heavy things, huge rocks and anvils). You may have to be pretty buff(str 30?) to do that I've no idea.

Oh yes, the reason to kick them down: "They say that statues have magical bones" (IIRC that's a fortune cookie message).

Spoiler
That means sometimes you get a random wand when you kick them down. Better chances if they're blessed

Spoiler
I think someone did a test on the chances of getting wands in statues based on their status in the guidebook. I'll try to get the page but im too tired now.

Well, I had a feeling that it was possible to make living (or undead) companions out of the statues. I had read it somewhere.... so I expected suggestions about that. Mistaken?

Figurines create companions when used. Statues are created by petrifying monsters.

Seeing as no one else seems to be saying it.

This is the UNSPOILED section.

Lavos, J put the bit about wands in a Spoiler quote for a reason.

Is it possible to 're-animate' or 'un-petrify' statues, for example with a potion, scroll or spell?

Move the cursor to the desired position and press [SPACE] when done.
Impossible. Suddenly you stand elsewhere.
You see an ancient altar of black obsidian.
The goblin rockthrower suddenly shouts a prayer to his gods! You are consumed by a roaring column of flame!
