The thread basically says it. Wouldnt it be cool to have a multiplayer ADOM. Where you coulld start your own game with a few people or go on the main game witha lot of people. It would take a lot of work but after the monsters are made a bit stronger (because of all of the people in the game regeneration and difficulty would have to improve) and you could talk to and join other eople playing the game. Im not sure if this has been brought up before so sorry if i steal anyones idea.

Have a look at this very old thread in the General forum. It has a bit of discussion of this idea, including the problems of unique monsters getting killed and what happens if someone wins the game.

Yeah, but there are plenty of other multiplayer RPG's, such as Dungeon Siege(Really good, btw).
EDIT:Heres an idea. In dungeon Siege, you can work as a co-op to get stuff. Of course, this limits the server to a smaller number of people (say,8). This probably would help eliminate the problems of MMORPG-type ADOM. (In Regular ADOM, you can have companions, MP Adom would work much the same way, but with real people as your companions. Also, when you/server exit, the savegame should be saved.)

Yes, but would the thing run in real time? Must everyone have planned their move before the next turn can begin? I don't think a multiplayer, turnbased game would work here.

Move the cursor to the desired position and press [SPACE] when done.
Impossible. Suddenly you stand elsewhere.
You see an ancient altar of black obsidian.
The goblin rockthrower suddenly shouts a prayer to his gods! You are consumed by a roaring column of flame!

Yeah good point. With all of the people on you would probably starve right away. But if you had just a few people...
