This is by _far_ the most annoying ADOM bug ever devised. I just lost _4_ of my charecters, one of which had a very good chance of actually finishing under a ultra ending. How does that bug happen? Is it during the game, or does it affect save files? Move the cursor to the desired position and press [SPACE] when done. Impossible. Suddenly you stand elsewhere. You see an ancient altar of black obsidian. The goblin rockthrower suddenly shouts a prayer to his gods! You are consumed by a roaring column of flame! |

I think it occurs during the game sometimes when you or some monster are picking up or dropping some item that causes the bug. So it's a bug with some items. I've gotten it from vaults, dragons and ants digging. IIRC a while back on rgra someone had a savefile with which if you dropped ignots the game crashed. Not sure if it was this bug though. If you're feeling happy, don't worry, it'll go away. Recently (I think it was recently) on rgra someone postulated that it might be a result of handling two items of the same type, one identified and the other not, due to sume bug. (i.e., like "orange potion" and "carrot juice".) The idea was that this is more likely to happen with ingots than other types of items. Die Gedanken sind Frei |

IIRC it gave me that error when selling too much stuff to a shop. I always pick up ALMOST everything and sell 'em.. Lost a lvl~40 char just like that... Off topic (almost): Also, I tend to keep the dungeons (and the game) as clean as possible, so I dump all the rocks and stuff to the wilderness so they'll vanish. Tried this once to the unwanted nonhostile NPCs at the outlaw village (to get those beggars to appear) but they always 'accompany you' in the wilderness. SO: I started to take those nonhostiles to the ID where they *completely* disappear. BAD idea... After taking ~20 booze-scummed beggars to the ID the game just crashed (not sure what error it gave). SOOO.. the game has probably some kid of bug about the things that u dump to the ID. Anyone had the same experience? Icesus |

I get it when I drop a shitload of items on the same square and walk over it again I fix it by spacing out my sellings |

Companions and the like don't vanish if you get them lost in the ID. You'll encounter them in the wilderness later on. Or at least it used to be that way, don't know if it's been changed in recent versions. If you're feeling happy, don't worry, it'll go away. I encountered a 291 in G16p2 the other day. So it is at least that old. (Ot) Has anyone ever gotten the ratling pamplet quest? (From the Usenet ADOM group/Lookin' at the executable.) |

I always get 291s in the version G15 loading levels getting artifacts monster picking stuff up fighting on the chaos lvl fighting shopkeeps droping great deal of items on a few squares OT; people are stealing my C<U> (unlogged or not loggin in) (well not steal its a great idea that belongs to everyone) [Edited 1 time, last edit on 8/11/2003 at 17:25 (GMT -5) by C] |
