I'm trying to config Adom so that the string 'uncursed' is changed into 'ok'. For example, 'uncursed eternium broadsword of penetration' would be changed into 'ok eternium broadsword of penetration'. I went into adom.cfg and added the line Uncursed_String = ok but it had no effect. I went into my game and used := to change it. That worked fine but it only affects that specific game. I wanted to change the enviroment variable through adom.cfg. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong? |

You could edit adom.exe... but make a saved copy first, or else you'll mess up your game. ChAoS iS cOmInG! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! |

No, no # at the beginning. I still can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. :( I'm sure trying to figure this out would be easier then editing adom.exe. That's why I decided to ask here on this board. Somebody here has to know. |

So Iridia, in your game does it say 'normal eternium broadsword of penetration'? The reason I wanted to change it was because 'uncursed' is too long a word. I can tell at a glance by the color so that word is unnecessary. It messes up the screen when I have a item with a long name. BTW, is there anyway to change 'blessed' and 'cursed' to just 'b' and 'c'? |

Well, after some fiddling, I decided to just using := in every game. I can't figure it out. I thought I was missing quotations or something but it's not suppose to have any. I guess I'll just have to type everytime I start a new game. About changing 'blessed' and 'cursed', maybe I'll send a email to Thomas Biskup about it. Seems like it would be a good idea.
